Just bought '88 528e

I've been away from BMW's for a while, but yesterday I couldn't resist and bought a
1988 528e with 191,000 miles for my daughter.
The good
White with blue, auto-incredible condition. Leather looks like it just left the factory.
Original paint, no body work.

The Bad
Car has been sitting in a enclosed garage but has not been started for seven years.
Previous owner had her condo mgr. start it up while she was out of town, but it last
ran in 2005. The battery is missing.

My intention is to flat bed it home, buy a battery, drain the fuel (if I remember, there
is a gas tank drain on the driver's side), new fuel pump and filter.

If there is anything else, I would be very thankful ! I am in Deltona Fl, between
Daytona and Orlando and would be grateful for any and all assistance.

You may want to replace as much of the rubber as possible; fuel lines, vacuum lines, coolant hoses, belts, etc. You're also going to probably need significant brake work; the hydraulics usually need rebuilding to be operating correctly. It's not usually a big problem, unless things are really frozen. Calipers, brake hoses, etc. Suspension should also be carefully evaluated, lots of rubber that's prone to deteriorating and ball joints, tie rods, and a center link that could be frozen. "Lifetime Lubrication" is a shortcoming for these cars.
