Hello Ladies and Gents. This is my first post on this forum so I hope i am introduced with kindness.
I have a few unknowing questions that I need help with.
First no I do not own a bmw.... and yes I have driven them( most models) I am a proud Lexus is350 owner and Love it. Overall I still think lexus makes road cars for the track but BMW makes Track cars for the road. Which leads me to my dream car. Bmw m3 e46 or e30
Now for the question. My girlfriend (dodge charger r/t) and I want to purchase a car to work on and build. She goes on and off about muscle but... I want a track car.. something that is lethal in corners, and head banging on the straights. So I got her to settle. BMW E46.... but which one? we are both university students. we work on our own and have little money saved up but enough for some recreations. Now.... 330ci? e36 m3? or e46 m3?
Now I hate high milage but our wallets only offer so much that we are probably going to only afford a high milage M3.
We found a decent one 200xxx kms for about 10000 Canadian. Though I want to strip it and rebuild it. Top to bottom. Though it doesn't need it and I don't know how much this will cost?
Replacement parts will be aftermarket and the interior will be mostly stripped. (how much could I approximately make off selling the not usable parts for a track car)
Lots of question additional comments are welcomed. We understand this will take over 2 years to complete. though we have a garage, and we have a steady income to allow for gradual purchase of parts. Is this smart or a stupid waste of money?
My goal at the end is to have built a m3 csl. it will probably have AC though lightweight seats. rear window replaced with plexi, I want this car to have the same or better performance than that 7:52 on the nurburing it does. note roll cage is a must
What year do you suggest for m3 e36, 46? and obviously manual over smh
two pictures of what I would expect. Is this worth it? can the car be road legal still, and no force induction advice. I like my NA engines without lag
