F10 535i Magnaflow Cat Back Exhaust Review w/ Sound Clips

Ok I feel that we haven't given aftermarket exhaust system enough justice on the forum. Every thread I read about exhaust is negative. So I'll start one with a positive view.

I am in love with the newly installed exhaust !

I know how many people say this is a luxury car and shouldn't be mess with. But the fact that the stock exhaust was completely noise less turns me off. We are driving a BMW, not Toyota Camry. Which to me, some noise is necessary.

Anyway the Exhaust.

Pro:

• It's the quietest exhaust for our car on the market. But by no mean is it silent.
• It make an awesome noise, thats a must.
• Droning. Yes that's what i said. At around 2k RPM there is a droning noise. I might be weird, but I like it. It's not a bad noise. It's not loud, It just sounds like the car is growling. If you don't like it, shifting into the sport mode or turning on music will completely eliminate the noise.
• The turbo sound actually got louder as well. I love that sound when the air is getting sucked in.

Con:

• Well, it doesn't smell nice lol
• Increased fuel consumption
• Exhaust tip gets black out quickly

Overall, for me the car came alive. I like it.

You definitely have the N55 throttle delay too! Could tell by when it sounded like you stabbed the pedal to when the tach moved... hate it.

Oh yeah even though this car has a built date of July 2011, the delay is still there. I absolutely hates it. Not just taking off but on the freeway as well. Can't wait for Dinan tune since it suppose to get rid of it.

Normally, you can get it online for around $1200. But I got it from another forum member "lakerholic" who was trying to get rid of it, brand new for $600.

I really like the sound of that exhaust; super mellow but has a growl to it. I was thinking of getting this exhasut as well since my entire system needs to be replaced due to a recent car accident. Have you noticed any new differences within the last several weeks?

Lol, no worries...

I read somewhere that there's an x-pipe for the magnaflow that reduces the drone? So how bad really is the drone?

On the Magnaflow it's really harsh. On the M it's slight, very slight but it sounds good. My girl says when driving next to me it makes you look at the car more.

Hmmm, my wife is the primary driver of the 535...but she never minded the drone of my full Corsa exhaust in my SS; which is a drone from hell. But then again, she never minds my Harley or Skylark. Thanks for the heads up though.

How is the fitment? Did it install easy? Any rattles?
