bluetooth audio from phone

I am looking into a 2012 335.

I want to be able to stream music from my Android phone to the carís audio system. Do I need BMW Apps for that, or is the BMW Assist / Bluetooth option sufficient?

Bkuetooth is enough if your phone supports that (I think all recent Android phones do). I also got BMW Apps in 2012 X6, currently not supporting Android.

Go here and see if your phone supports BT audio. Like the above poster mentioned, I would think any Droid phone would support it. You do not need BMW Apps for music streaming, just BMW BT.

Yes that is correct . I use Pandora and mp3 music through my Droid to our X5, going 80 mph. Loving it.
