Was thinking if A4driver has jammed eccentric shaft and it plays around like ours the problems must be in vvt... I will get ECU for testing next week and if it doesn't work might get vvt control unit too.. How is the relay supposed to work next to vvt unit? any idea?

I did open my cover once more to verify the spring. Is has no function at all. And the shaft (with motor removed) is hard to move with only hand. I did loose up all carriers a little, but it didnt help any. I did replace valvetronic motor half year ago. Do anyone here use a DIS tester? Each time I use my own to reset valvetronic motor limit, I get some strange error messages, and I cant hear any sound like it relearns the limits.

DIS is the oem BMW diagnostic. So yes it need cable. I have a "virtualpc" version, works perfect on everything to do with diagnostic, tests and livedata. But the valvetronic reset dont work. Can you do this reset with bmw scanner or inpa? I have both. Bmw scanner 1.4.0 and a inpa from 2005. Cant do the relearn with my versions(not an option).

BMW scanner can't connect on vvt unit. Don't know if this is fault or is it supposed to connect... INPA cable should work with DIS or so i read.. Have to try.

Well new DME didn't help.. I was wondering if n62 had similar problems because it kinda has same head that n42 has... Well couple of things found :
"my service facility told me it sounds like sludge. not enough oil pressure on cold start to operate the CCT properly causing the cam to move enough to cause the misfires." (This was for multiple misfires on cold start) That is something that i could believe.. Especially when cold oil is thicker than warm. I was thinking that my head casket sealer was glued and mayby some glue is somewhere stuck.. But another interesting : They had some kind of problem with intermediate levers with bad tolerance... But if bad tolerance causes cold start miss fires why wouldn't normal wear... Yes.. They are just misfire problems on n62 but it has 2 heads... so the compression lost wouldn't probably show... Just losing my mind with this and searching everything i was thinking i will take vanos adjustment units off friday and see if pipes from solenoid valves has something stuck..Today i found with my pal that my vvt motor turns even if compression is gone so i dont think that could be the proplem.. I just can't figure out how they would slowly give compression back but i'm really losing my mind and just want to check everything... I would really need this car to work.. |

I fixed mine 2 weeks ago. The fix was to sell the car for a price off total loss...
After one year I got enough. |

Similar problem there. This person went to BMW dealer and they reprogrammed the ecu. Maybe this helps.
