E36 1992 BMW 316i idle problem

Its seems like I'm a common problem with my idle like everybody else. I got a clock where my rpm gauge, so i don't know how high the rpm is running but i know it jumps up and down most of the time, and then the cars goes off. i would then have to start the car again and then when i drive the problem , i put a new alternator, battery, spark plugs, dirt. cap and rotor finger and a the transmission was just replace yesterday, the the idle problem came back. and i also got the tail pipe welding and the old o2 sensor replace. can anybody put some light on my problem with my car any help would be greatly needed and thanks.

Sounds like you threw a bunch of money and parts at it, when all it probably is is a dirty MAF and/or a vacuum hose leaking. ALWAYS try the simple stuff first. Replacing all the expensive bits for an idle problem is like crushing the car when the ashtays get full.
