2008 750li iPod??

Hey guys, just picked up a used 2008 750, it has the cd changer in the dash, what's the best way to get my iPhone and iPod to work? Do ingest the BMW adapter or is there something better? What about sat radio? I saw eas tuning did some xm adapter since Sirius is less than desired.

You can go with the OEM BMW Ipod adapter ,
But it does take the place of your Cd Changer .

with the bmw ipod adapter, will you be able to navigate the ipod contents ie, artist, genre playlsit, that kind of thing or are you just presented with a bunch or songs.. And i mean through MMI... i am very anti apple, but of course the rest of the world isnt and since everything they make is all compatiple, it is the easiest platform to integrate with, I know... "
I want to be able to use the MMI to go through my music with track names, artist names, playlists maybe, and all that jazz, (like the CIC Idrive), if this BMW apple adapter will do that then I would by an ipod to just throw in the car and forget about it lol.... i came across the sapnish dudes X65 page where he integrates a cmputer in the e65 but that seems like a lot of work.... so I will trade effort for something I dont reallty care for lol... besides I have an iphone 4 someone didnt want to fix the glass on and gave it to me... so yeah... cheap is good too.

YOUR CAR JUST NEEDS TO BE CODED TO DO SO ...

the 08 has an aux input in the center console. I have the orig ipod kit in my car and its not that great, if you have an aux input just use it.

yes, i do have the aux, and thats what i use.... but i am seriously looking into an integrated system.... in CA texting is illegal while driving, and i dont want it confused as texting when i am searching through mp3 palyer.... I guess the question is how much to get it coded??

If I recall correctly the ipod kit is around $375 . It ranges between $600 & $700
For the install depending what dealer you go to . 1 more thing , some dealers
Only do basic coding . So you will see cd1 ,cd2, cd3, cd4, cd5, cd6 instead of
Playlist , artist , genre , & the rest .


FYI = I saw an ipod kit on craigslist a few days ago for $250 .
If you buy that then all you will need is install & coding .

I've used the aux in, but the sounds is not as good as I expected. There's a constant hum in the background, like the old stereo days with engine noise. If I keep the volume on the iphone around 3/4, its better, at full blast, it sounds horrible. Its livable but sure would like to just use steering wheel control and the idrive.

If you're hearing a low-frequency hum, I'd suggest swapping for a higher quality cable and make sure it's plugged in all the way.

I just finished the iPod install about 30 mins ago. Only took me about a hour and thats because I kept looking at the install step by step on my phone. EASY as cake. Only time I use apple products is when In in the studio making music. Im so use to android file management that its a learning curve trying to figure out iTunes and this playlist stuff. Im using a iPhone and everything is in alphabetical order so putting whole albums on it is a lil confusing. But over all I like it. My cdc didnt work when I got the car so this was the first thing on my list to do. And I didnt even have to code anything.

Here you go PAPER.......

As you can see, I have the text scroll at the bottom of my MMI. Last night where it says cd1,cd2 ect were the song names, today nothing. My MMI rebooted twice while still playing music on my 10 min drive home from work. Its slowed to a crawl. I couldn't change the cd1, cd2 position..I was stuck listening to the same song.

I am using a iPhone 4S
iOS 6.1.1
16GB (13.6 Capacity)
1773 songs on it.

I have a 07 750Li. I just tried to check my software version with the turn 3 clockwise, 3 counter clockwise method but it didn't work.

So PAPER...do I need to go find a iPod and with old software and use that instead?

Try setting the IPOD Line in your mmi trace file to aktiv through ncs expert once and see if your problem goes away. If you do that you will no longer see cd1, cd2, cd3 etc instead you'll see the ipod menu, playlists, artists, podcasts songs etc etc. If your problem still persists then maybe you'd also need to add the ipod to your vehicle order, but don't quote me on that, just suggesting trouble shooting procedures

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit.....I guess this is the coding PAPER speaks on...lol I thought it was plug and play. I don't know the first thing about coding..would love to learn cause I want the lock while driving feature. Guess I have to do a search on what cable and windows xp processor works with this and a coding for dummies manual (hint hint for help...lol)

Talked to Kingsilverback lastnight and he put me on the right rode to start learning about coding.

So I erased some songs on my iPhone this morning, about 500 or so and now the names show for the song thats playing but I still have no playlist. Im cool with that for now
