Time capsule e36 M3

I would like to know everyone's opinion on why this guy in Astoria, NY has been keeping his time capsule for sale ever since last summer, at least.

Do you think:

1. He gets satisfaction of telling people his price is firm at $35k, making any potential buyers feel bad they can't spend that much.

2. He wants bragging rights for the lowest mileage e36 M3 in the country.

3. He doesn't really want to sell the car, therefore he keeps it at $35K.

4. His girlfriend keeps asking where the relationship is going and he appeases her saying once the car sells they get married and have a $35K wedding.

5. He likes to sit in the garage staring at it and jerking off, but his sex life is suffering because of it and now he wants to sell it.

6. He's a car hoarder.

I've seen this car before, he's in no hurry to sell so he's keeping the price high until he finds some idiot to pay what he wants for it

Ouch. That's almost as much as the car was new in 1995! I graduated from HS that same year and my best friends parents bought him a brand new white one (which he of coarse totaled). I seem remember the sticker being in the low 40's.

I would buy it if it was closer to 20k for nostalgia sake but only if it really was in showroom condition. This was the first BMW i ever drove...

For that price I would have to fly cross country to check it first otherwise I would feel like a fool paying that much! Almost 17 years old with only 2,900 miles I would be concerned about seals and fluids. He better have meticulous records.

There are lower mileage LightWeights out there, that are being offered for in the same ballpark price.

I'm with number 5...only for practical reasons. He would have had to have been in late 20's early 30's to be first owner and be able to afford not driving it. And to use that excuse with a gf in your 40's won't go far...

#1 my M3 cost 48k$ decked out, and his isn't decked out maybe he paid 38k or 40, that's just ridiculous to ask 35 it will never sell ie. he will stay single, in 25 more years with same Milage maybe as a collector car but his girl isn't gonna wait that long if she does they deserve each other

Sweet.

I like to hear numbers like that.

I think my LTW is a better investment than my investments.

I think I saw pics of the seats and were Vaders, unless he removed them.

Vader's aren't heated, and he's got the seat heater switches on there

Mein Auto: a piece of crap
Clean

If you scroll over you can see the interior and seat pics. This is the cleanest e36 I've ever seen. 35k is way too much but i''m just happy this thing exists. Even if he's too much of a puss to drive it

In April of 2001 I passed on an opportunity to buy a '95 M3 with 2,500 miles on it for $27k.

I ended up buying my 328Ci off lease instead, and later regretted it...

Looks like your car wasn't fully loaded then....

Vader's had the option for heating and full power. In the pics he provided, there are Vaders. And no hate here, I'm glad he is keeping the price up-in a way it still boosts the value of the rest of our cars.

Don't know why you guys are coming down so hard on the guy, he most likely loves his car and really does not want to sell it-but he will let it go if somebody is willing to pay his asking price. I totally understand where he's coming from, I love my car too and don't want to sell it. But if I had an ad that I maintained for it for $15,000 (not saying my car is worth that) and somebody came along and decided that they wanted to pay me that, then hell yea I would sell it. I'd take the cash and either buy an M3 in better condition than mine or maybe just save up for awhile until I could move up to an e30 M3 or e46 M3.

No hate here...but man, someone will come up with close to that amount. I can guarantee it. someone on ebay sold his 125k mile m3 for over 9K and its very very clean. This one is, in essence, a time capsule m3...not to mention close to being 20 years old!!!!

Exactly. Honestly if I had a lot of money to throw around, I could totally see myself buying this. It would be between something like this or an ultra low mileage LTW
