Side Mirror

Hello,
I have a 2003 Z4 2.5 that has a broken passenger side mirror. It is broken right at the stem, where the gasket is. I would like to find a replacement, and know how to install. The rest of the mirror is perfect. Do I have to change the entire mirror. Can I buy a used or new one and just change the outer painted shell? Any advice is appreciated.

BMW sells the entire unit. What you can get from salvage yard is up to them. Normally they would sell the entire unit as well.

Hi, I just bought a Crimson Red Z4 - 2012. It has the new 4 cylinders twin turbo engine and I must say it is awesome... The sound of twin turbo is too good. Love the drive... One question: Is it possible to get the car's remote key programmed in order to fold / unfold the side view mirrors by using the remote key? I had this option in my 325i (2006) and 530i (2007) models...s
