Yes, I forgot to say that there is a second function you can execute in Tool32 that sets the friendly name that the TCU broadcasts when pairing. I forgot the name of the function but as I recall the TCU set that parameter by itself after a few reboots.

Have you been able to pair now?

TEL_BLUETOOTH -NICHT-AKTIV
BLUETOOTH_HANDY-AKTIV
BLUETOOTH_C06-NICHT-AKTIV
where else these parameters can be located?
only where I cant check is TCUM because NCS still want to connect it

The reason your trace file is so big is because it is the trace for all the modules in the car (not necessarily in any order).

I know that MMI has bluetooth parameters and TCUM as well only
MMI has both option set as active
TCUM I cant connecting in NCS to check it
so I reckon that parameters are from old TCUM ???possible??

Try this:
  • Start NCSexpert
  • Load a profile that allows daten file changes, e.g. Fister or Revtor's
  • Load your FA/VO and set the simulated production date and the $633 option
  • Select "process ECU" and pick TCUM
  • In the box that comes up, change to TCU15MOS.Cxx (xx is the coding index INPA says your TCU has) and TELE60_3.PRG
  • Go back and hit F2, select "CODIERDATEN_LESEN"
  • Execute the job.

This should result in a successful read and a FSW_PSW.TRC file for just your TCU. If you still get the error, try TCU15MOS.C12 (which is what mine uses), .C13 and so on until the job completes.

I saw on your picture that INPA says your TCU is index 22, but I have the most recent daten (V45) and they only go up to .C13 so maybe 22 is an error on INPA's part.

Once you have the TCU trace, post it here.

Makes no sense. Did you try reading the coding index as per the instructions in post 387? If that does not work it sounds more like some sort of communications error.

Hit F2, select this job (I guess READ_CODEINDEX or something similar), run that job and NCS will pick up the correct index and data files for the unit. You can then code without NCS throwing errors.
tried but I reckon you miss some points
F2 is CHASSIS NUMBER and dont have READ_CODEINDEX or simillar in NCS unfortunately
Strange because INPA and tool32 working with this unit

I am sure you have it. After you have selected "process ECU" and selected TCUM you are back at the coding screen. F2 is "Change job" and that is where you find the list of jobs. Code index read is 2nd or 3rd from the top.

I`ve done as you said but this option Code_index doesnt change anything
any trc file hasn't been made
coding process has been done properly
basically what this option is doing?
and also please give me advice about production date which I should to use now I have #0307 but I reckon it is to early because unit is from 0708 year
car wont accept any date after #0907
also I`ve deleted option $607(Preparation, Teleservice) from FA, checked VIN from 3 different e65 and any of the car has had this option added but $633 was as standard option
so I thinking this option is not necessary and should be deleted as $638

The read job will not change anything. It's just a way to have NCS interrogate the module so that it finds out which actual data/coding files to use. Then you can read or code and be sure the correct files are used. I made a little video - my life's first instructional video that shows you exactly how to do this.

Note NCS does not remember this so you have to do the read each time you select a module prior to reading or coding.
Post your TCU trace after you have done the read.

I think as long as the options you put in the VO are accepted, the production date does not matter. If a certain option is not valid for a date you enter, NCS will not accept it.

Weird. Did the CODIERINDEX_LESEN complete without error? There is no way your TCU can be C02.

Load the Revtor or Fister profile. Because you have the 1.5 TCU you definitely should use TELE60_3.PRG, TCU15MOS.Cxx and A_TCU15.IPO. When you select TCUM in these profiles, NCS will ask for three files. Enter these 3 (start with xx=12) and try reading the TCU.

This whole thing is such a kludge...

I am just using a standard install of NCSexpert 3.1.0 with V45 daten files updated using the BMW Coding Tool.

Your symptom looks like NCS cannot find the files. Have you checked that you have the TCU15* files?

I can send you some links in an email.

Now, since I haven't managed to get my stuff to work either I feel like a blind leading the blind...

I just discovered that at some point during my tinkering I lost the TMC functionality. Possibly when I coded SA633_VERBAUT to the Nav. I rolled back the nav but that didn't fix it

Hi Masa52,

There are set production dates to use, #0907 is the last valid date you can use. Just because the TCU is newer does not mean it will not accept the older coding parameters.

The reason the pairing is an issue is because a majority of the TCUs come from other models, that use the CCC idrive, the E65 idrive is completely different, the TCU has the chassis/idrive option in its coding.

HI Stuartjohn24

so You suggesting that unit is not good for retrofit?
I`ve check in etk and this unit can be fit to e65 as well
the problem is definitely some of the parameters in the unit are wrong and need to recode because are setted for x6,but my ncs wont talk with the unit.
Inpa working fine ,winkfp and tool32 as well so I don have clue why
Will try order new unit tomorrow
maybe is any chance read trc file using tool32?
thanks

Well, if the TCU came from an X6 it is no surprise NCS will not read it using E65 daten files. You need to tell NCS it is from an E71 and then recode it. You probably don't have E71 in your daten directories which is why the CODIERINDEX_LESEN job does not work.

What would happen if you run NCS using the Revtor or Fister profile and when it asks for the 3 files you enter the E71 versions, if you can find them on the net (I do not have them)? Then if you can read the TCU you can change "BAUREIHE" to E65 and recode.

I don't recall seeing a function in Tool32 to change model designation.

I don't know, maybe it is something else.

You said you have the pairing menu on the MMI. Can you initiate pairing there, does the MMI talk to the TCU at all, i.e. do you get asked for the pairing code?

What happens when you try to pair from the phone? Do you get asked for the code and the TCU rejects the pairing after that or can't you initiate pairing at all either way?

Reason I ask is that in my case the phone and TCU could pair fine without the MMI being involved at all, but the MMI thinks I still have the old TCU and acts that way which is why I don't have all the phone functions in the MMI. Whether that is because the MMI needs newer FW or if it is a coding thing I do not know.

Can you post traces from your MMI and NAV?
