OEM Bosch french DE euro headlights!!

I am thinking of picking these up from a guy here on the Fest, very excited

I just wanted to get peoples opinions, and Phillip, I have a question specifically for you!

Phillip, you have bosch headlights right, factory with city lights and the whole sha-bang... Are you able to upgrade the bulbs and lighting in these housings without messing with the city lights function or breaking the housing? Also, did you have to do any fancy wiring to get the lights to function how you wanted? (ie city lights when you want 'em)

Example, I want Angel Eyes, if i were to get these headlights can I put AE's in with them and change up the lighting scheme so it is universal? (ie all yellowish or all white light as opposed to how it would look right now if i were to toss them on, yellowish headlights, white fogs)

hahaha

Its all good Andy, one can almost always applaud honesty

I like them, and they are genuine bosch lights, these are rare here on this side of the pond, not to mention a steal of a deal (i think Umnitza can order bosch headlight units like this, they cost 500 a housing, 1000 a pair (they come complete with AE's though... so just the housing/bulbs probably more like 700) AND they have built in city lights, just like in Europe

What don't you like about them? The Yellow? (which I'm fairly sure can be changed... I'm not sure about the yellow either, I always saw myself with white (6000K) lighting... but who knows... lol)

Edit: Also, when I try to image search on google for headlights you always pop andy!

Nobody really offers replacement inner glazing, but if you can find it, do it. I'll spare you my rant into coloured lighting and its effect on lighting performance.
I vote no. Changing all of that to make it better looking/performing would be quite a project, despite their rarity.

Pintos are pretty rare now, but I still don't want one...

Hahaha, I've read your color and lighting rants once or twice

What do you mean Inner Glazing? The glass bulb itself is yellow right, wouldn't it be as simple as changing the bulbs?

Anyways, I'm pretty sure I will be going with these, SO long as I know it is possible to get the more universal HID/Xenon Bulbs and AE's in...

No. The outer glazing is the glass cover. The inner glazing is the inner glass (yellow circles). The bulb will be a standard white bulb, but the inner glazing is yellow, giving the yellow projected light. Changing the bulb won't do anything to change the color from yellow.

Upgrading to HID/Xenon is going to mean a lot of cutting/slicing/drilling to a housing like that. It will not be fun, and you'll still be stuck with yellow light, with bright white angel eyes.

Ok this is the answer I've been looking for, thank you Kyle.

Its not the one I wanted to hear, but its worth hearing for sure

Damn, I guess I will just have to do a city lights mod to whatever Depo's I get...

(as a part of me still thinks straight yellow batman bimmer would be cool... and they are bosch...being indecisive really sucks at times >< )

No problem. I wouldn't want to see the headache that would cause.
Just get a nice set of DEPOs and I'll help you set them up in any way you want. Right now, I have my Angel Eyes custom wired on a switch to be DRL and the city lights tied into the parking lights.

Thanks for doing business? Why do some people speak this way? It makes no sense. To thank someone for their business, some act of "business" would need to have already taken place in the past, yet none has. AND, this thread is three years old.

So, who wants to call this guy?
