Well I test drove a 335i tonight but was looking to get a 328i, I was curious how much and he said $57k and he would not go any lower, that was MSRP.

No, some are getting deals at 750 to 1000 over invoice on a 335i. Check with a board sponsor.

Are you ordering or buying off the dealer lot? I think you would get better deal if you order, because the dealer can pockets all the overhead allowance from the manufactory.

Build the car using BMWConfig. Decide how much you want the dealer to make. Go to the dealer and tell him you are ready to sign the bottom line if they can meet your price. Any bull****, go to another dealer even if it has to be out of state. I ordered my car 300 miles away from I live. When the car comes, I just rent a car and go pick it up. Good way to break in the car too. LOL.

sorry but I'm new here. What does this mean? I see the list of sponsors but it just appears to be links to other dealers.

Is there a FAQ ?

Active members here, but work for bmw dealerships. If you contact them they can order you a car and ship it to your door. So you don't have to deal with the local dealers dictatorship.

All you'd do is fax/send paperwork back and forth.

Ask a dealer

Bulls**t. That's what they tell you if you ask. You gotta make them work... be ready to walk. Negotiate.

Don't go inside at all. Do it over the internet. I pitted 2 Seattle dealerships against each other -- just made them keep bidding against each other. Ended up grabbing 1k over invoice and signed on the dotted line. Don't let those bozos play you for the fool.

Where on the net? Seems that sites like edmunds don't have invoice prices updated.

Price out w/ your specs. Negotiate upward from invoice instead of down from MSRP. Anything over 1500 over invoice and they're f*cking you. Deal over email w/ the internet people at local dealerships. Make them bid against one another. Another good tip is to find someone at you local dealership who paid a good price. Offer them the same amount over invoice and say you're ready to sign if they'll deal. Good luck.

Google the Rizzo method and adjust for today's technology (I.e. use email to send your config to multiple dealers and let them compete for your money).

It's not surprising that they are asking MSRP - it's a brand new model and they haven't even had time to ramp up their inventory. There will be plenty of people with more money than sense who will pay it.

+1

There are plenty of buyers who want to be the first kid on the block with the new toy.

If you belong to Costco, they have an auto program and you can get discounted offers without even getting up from your chair. http://www.costcoauto.com/enterzipco...2fdefault.aspx

Your least likely way to get a good price is to walk into a dealer and talk to a random salesman.

Think in terms of % off from MSRP. 3% off should be easily attainable (if Dealer A won't do it, go to Dealer B). After that it's negotiation and hard dealing.

Priced out what I wanted on BMW Config. 335i with all options but 19" wheels and power shades.

MSRP = 58.045
Invoice = 53,570

Or 8.35% about Invoice is MSRP.

There is a Training Service Fee of $ 200 added to invoice but not on MSRP in the BMW Config totals. Both had the 895 Destination fee.

I would add 53,570, 190 (MACO), and 500 (offer to dealer) together to start the process.

Well, MACO varies.

I believe the closest board sponsor in the Philly area is BMW of Morristown in NJ which should be about 100 miles from you. I would look around on the forums for posts from that dealership and see if there is a specific CA who posts here. I am planning on going to them first when I am ready to place my order. 100 miles really isn't that far, and you can do all the work without setting foot in the dealership. Plus you get a nice relaxing drive home with your new car!

I also agree with everything which was said here, just shot gun out via email to multiple dealers, someone will bite. When you send the emails, don't include your phone number, and do all the negotiation via email. They will try and tempt you to come into the dealership, but unless you are trading in a car, there is zero reason to actually sit down and negotiate at a desk.

PA dealers in the Philly area are also dealing with main line folks who don't have a problem paying full MSRP, so you have to work for it a bit!

I'm in the Philly area also (main line) and when we bought our first BMW back in 2000 that is the line they fed us.
Find another dealer. Your local dealer will still be obligated to do warranty service, but you will save thousands up front and have the great satisfaction of not giving your money to a**holes who don't respect you.
Take a Performance Center delivery and make a vacation of it... or better yet, take a European delivery and pick up your car at the Performance Center and make two vacations of it.

Will be paying $850 over invoice at http://orlando.expressautolease.com
He was not going any lower then $1000 over but I really insisted and since my brother in law got his 5 series from him he said ok. But, I am still deciding between ED or local. My last one was ED and was such a blast!!
