It should also be noted that at least with the E90, the car's computer is optimistic by at least 1MPG. I measure at the pump when I refill.

This why 5-60 MPH is more telling test method. It removes the affect of brake stands and clutch dumps, which are things most people never do to their cars. If I recall the 335i has a pretty significant lead over the N20 based 328i in 5-60 MPH acceleration.

Don't think any test has been done on that yet. We're all waiting for it...especially Saintor The only thing tested was the N20 in the Z4... not the 328.

My X3 35D M Sport does the same 0-60 with 40 MPG driven @ normal speeds under 80MPH.

??? I was pretty sure C&D did it with both the N20 and N55. Difference was around 1 second, w/the N20 taking 7.1 seconds if I remember correctly; I think w/the auto tranni. Check the monster "driving the F30 on the track" thread; quite sure it was all discussed there and the 'seemingly slowness' of the 335i was very controversial.

I loved every bit of my N54 335i and I know the N55 is different, but if its even close then I am really going to enjoy my car.

We could all get dodge charger R/T pluses and have faster 0-60 times, but what kind of fun would that be?

BMW engineers excellence and if you cannot appreciate it then ask yourself if you want a BMW or something else. I can tell you that I would be happier in a BMW 328i than a dodge charger R/T, Camaro SS, or Mustang GT. Its not all about power, its about how the package is put together.

BMW is like Apple, where art meets technology. (Even though Steve Jobs drove a Mercedes)
VERY well said!!!

I'm guessing 85%, but that may be too low.
Saintor is one of the biggest idiots known to man. He gets shat on here, E90 post, VWvortex, basically everywhere he goes. Basically a Class A troll.

He hates everything that is a turbo or diesel. It's funny because he always proclaims how amazing his POS 323i is all the time.

Seems like a really slow 1/4 mile for how fast the 0-60 is. S4 runs a 12.9.

That's because there's little correlation between the two numbers and one is fairly useless (hint: the 0-60).

Of course, you know that, you have just decided to fully descend into trolldom.
