Just bought 2012 F10!!
I'm excited to be picking up my new 535xi (Premium, Cold Weather, M-Sport, Navi, Sattelite Radio) tomorrow. Traded in my 06 530xi with 64,500 miles. Paid $62,250 for the new one and got $17,250 on my trade. Felt that I got a little short-changed on my trade, especially because I was the original owner of this fully loaded car with no accidents or paint work. Anyway, it was time for a change and I'm excited about getting this car. Looked at the A6, E350 and new Lexus GS, but neither excited me-----so I guess BMW felt right again. Any thoughts from any of you who have owned both and E60 and F10? Just curious to hear about the differences. I've been hearing that the new car feels heavier and less connected to the road. By the way, I loved my E60 but it started to look like it was going to become a money pit. Thanks for your thoughts.

Congrats on an awesome car. I test drove one several weeks ago, and loved it! Steering, handling and noise were all great, not to mention exterior and interior design. You'll need to update your sig now

You got ripped off on that trade. Should have been patient and sold private could have saved another 5-10k more.

Congratulations on the new 535ix!! It is a nice car except you would have to be extra careful and check your 19" tire everyday to spot any bubble or cracks. Look out threads that talk about BMW tire issues in this forum. Oh by the way you may not be able to replace a broken tire when you need to because the tire is new and discontinued, depends which brand/model you have.

Don't let that trade rip off comment bum you. Some of us do not want to be bothered and delayed in selling our cars to private parties. Your trade appears to be about $1,000 under Kelly Bluebook, which is not bad. At the end of the day, it is not what the dealer gives you for your trade, or how much they sell their new vehicle for, but the difference between the two.
If you have a trade, you should be able to negociate a better price on the new car, as the dealer will be making a secondary profit. That tends to offset (a little) the loss of not selling to a private party. Last edited by Detrick; 02-12-2012 at 07:12 PM. |

don't forget the tax reduction on the trade in value. Tomorrow you will not care about it. Enjoy, congrats and welcome to the club

Word of advice: GET THE BMW WHEEL/TIRE INSURANCE.
In New York, you WILL get tire damage every time you go over a pothole.

Congrats. I think you'll find the 2012 a great car. You'll love the sound of the engine at full throttle as it quickly changes gears through the 8 spd AT.

7500 miles and no problems whatsoever on my 18" Continental RFT. I live in NYC and I can tell you that I've hit quite a few potholes over those miles. I think the problem is the GY LS2's mated with the 19" rims.
