Need help with Iphone/Ipod connection

Hi,

I picked up my 335d few days back and it came with 6FL Ipod/USB adapter but NO Smartphone or App.

I connected my wife's Iphone 4s to USB port and it charges the phone but iDrive is not able to connect to device.

I was wondering if anybody knows how can I connect Iphone to iDrive? One soln. I see on web is to use Y cable but I am not sure if even that will work.

My car production date is 06/2010.

Any help on this front is welcomed.

Yep. You need the Y-cable.

Just use your white iphone cable. You don't need y-cable anymore

My 2011 335d would not work with the white cable. No one at the BMW dealer could get it to operate correctly with the white cable. The Y cable works fine, but it's too short.

My white iPhone cable from Apple works fine on my 2011 335D. The white "iPhone" cable I got from my AT&T store didn't.

Mine works with cheap chinese retractable cable. Never had any issues.

Here is what I found on other posts. If car was produced before Sep'10 then you need Y cable but not after that. Difference is that they have different combox( I dont know what it is).

My car was produced in June'10 therefore even though I am able to charge my Iphone 4S I dont see it on Idrive.
