I hooked up my Galaxy Note 2 to my 2013 328i USB port to play my music, but to no avail. Does anyone know what I need to do?

1. Get a phone that's not the size of a VHS tape

Usb port is just for memory card w/ songs. You have to use the aux or blue tooth. I use BT all the time. You can get cable for aux if u want.

Any phone with music accessible via USB will play via the OEM USB port. |

How can I play my music from my Note 2 via USB port?
Yes, I agree that I should be able to play my music from my Note 2 after I connect it to the USB port, but it states on the display "not connected". Is it because the phone was only set up as a phone via Bluetooth and BMW doesn't give an option to switch between phone and mp3? Please assist forum members!

You may need to connect it as a "media device." Check to see it is not connected as an installer.

How can I connect Note 2....
Yes, it was connected as media device. It appears I'll need to bring the car in for service.

With an Android phone use the Bluetooth connection for calls and streaming music. That way if a call comes in, the music stops, then restarts after the call.
Without an iPhone , you can use an iPad through the USB as I do and get email, calendar, etc. the iOS BMW Connected, and BMW Remote APP's come in handy also. BMW remote will unlock/lock your car, blink lights, or honk the horn- from anywhere! I use an android phone (personal), Blackberry phone (work), iPad Mini, and Macbook. I couldn't get my Galaxy Note II to play via usb either. But it works fine streaming BT. OP there is no need to take your car in for service - it is not broken.

The USB connection is for a USB drive with music on it, or iPhone, or iPad, but not for other phones at this time I believe.

If you are using an Android and want to connect via USB:
- Go to "Settings" - Select "Developer options" - Select/check "USB debugging" - enjoy the music... |
