Of note, the OP's title actually reads "WITH spending a tin of money", so I'm assuming money is no object...

Well you can invest in some turbos looks at some salvage yards or an intake would help.

Drag race a Prius or smart car. That should make you feel better.
In all seriousness, enjoy the car as it is. As stated above it has one of the best engines in the world.

Why do the fun threads always seem to show up when I'm occupied elsewhere?
![]() I am eager to read more because I do have a tin of money (about a pint of pennies). Whatever makes OP's 328 as fast as a 335 should make my 335 as fast as an M3, right? It's either that or cash in my hoard for half a sandwich. (I already have a Sawzall. )

Agreed. I suggest getting six turbos (one for each cylinder). Then it will be FASTER than a 335i. Pretty simple bolt on solution. Plug n play.

Here are some relatively inexpensive items that can really make your car faster (acceleration, stopping, cornering)
1. Big wheels in black or chrome. 2. Tinted windows. 3. A loud exhaust. 4. Rear spoiler, or a full body kit if you have the money. 5. Tinted break lights. 6. Nitrogen in all tires. Be sure to put nitrogen in the spare tire, which can be difficult to locate at times Just keep looking, you will find it. |

You can contact the owner of this prized "Honda M3", to mod your 328i into looking like an M3. If he can do it to a Honda, the 328i won't be a problem...

I think he means "without spending a ton of money"
Biggest bang for the buck .... Nitrous .... N2O. Shoot for that extra 300 hp they'll claim you can get and when the motor melts down, put in a serious build. But then you'd be spending that ton of $$$ anyway. Best advise, learn to drive that 328 and save your spare change for a 335. It's easier, and cheaper to buy fast than make fast.

Two options...
1) Find a 335 and follow it around the block for a few laps. If the HPFP hasn't crapped out on the 335 between laps 8 and 10 and the engine gone into limp mode, you have been extremely unlucky when you chose which 335 to follow.
or 2) Find a 335 with performance software and follow it around a track, by lap 5, the 335 will have overheated and gone into limp mode. You will be faster. NB In the event that the 335 you have chosen is a 335d, just get it to follow you to some farm land. The 335d driver will not be able to resist the urge to plow a field. A 335d pulling a plow through a muddy field will be slower.

I don't think even a 2012 328i is as fast as a 335i.....

my 328i is faster than any non sport package 335i. a 335i will get up to speed faster but my M sport package 328i has the higher top speed. If it is a sport package 335i it is a different story.
![]() The 328i already is a fast car as it is and unless you are here in europe you will never reach the car's potential in any legal manner. |

//begin highjack Has anyone noticed the change in both who's posting here in E9Xland and the nature of the posts? There's a distinct evolution. //end highjack |
