So, 2013 is the last model year to have this classic shape. I guess BMW will sell a record amount of X5s for MY2013.
Spy photos of MY2014 are not encouraging. The taillights appear to be vertical (similar to a Toyota 4 Runner) instead of the current horizontal spread. Vertical taillights are inadequate for a vehicle with such a wide rear. MY2014 seems to now have a massive front grille juxtapositioned with headlights that are too small. I'm wondering what BMW are up to. Have they become complacent? I think the LCI of MY2011 improved the E70 X5. Unfotunately the designers of MY2014 have turned in the wrong direction. Is there something in the drinking water? |
