Where can I get a new battery apart from the dealer....can I just get one at autozone?

I purchased a interstate battery. 85 month warranty. Make sure you get a AGM battery.

Yes you can get a battery at Autozone. Call, visit, or search their website via vehicle search and batteries that are compatible with your car will show up. Various stores in your area may or may not have the item in stock. Its important that you get the right battery for your 7.

You can also buy a new battery at Sears . There is a topic with the link to the battery in here someplace . Do a search in the e65 e66 section

Yes you can buy a battery at these places but need to register it to the car with programming software.

I should have thought this one through

I just dropped $500 at the dealership for a new battery

As noted, just make sure you register it. This step cannot be skipped without consequence.

I bought the Duralast Battery from Autozone that I posted above about 6 months ago and i never had it registered and I haven't had a single issue. I didn't know a thing about registering the battery until people started asking about batteries here on this forum. I understand why I'm supposed to have it Because I haven't had a single issue I'm in no hurry to get it registered.
