Thanks Khabar

I am having similar issues as well. I bought a used bmw car brought it into get it repair for cosmetic reason. All of a sudden the auto body told me the next the car had starting issues. the car was working fine just the day before.

Here is a video i uploaded

The issue with mine is the car would crank but it wont start and the throttle keeps clicking.

I tried changing the throttle body still the same.
changed Crankshaft sensors too still the same.

I am not sure if the battery is the main issue but when i brought it to a Oreilly's auto parts they did a test on the battery and said the battery is fine.

So I am not sure what is wrong. Now that you got yours fixed khabar I think mine could be the DME since someone tried connecting a scan tool to the system and it couldn't connect.

I did connect the odb2II code reader and it came up with the following codes.

P1720, P1727, P1721, P0120, P123, P222

I have a BMW 545i 2005 btw.

My car has some check engine lights going on and transmission failure but i think it has something to do with the below P Codes.

So basically today i took apart the DME, no physical damage. I ended up putting it back together and the Throttle stopped clicking the video I posted above. It did however make a smaller clicking noise.

I check the fuse box next to the DME and non of the fuses have been blown. I plug everything back in still nothing.

I pulled out the spark plug and coil and started the engine. Non of the spark plug seem to be getting any electricity.

So i am not quite sure what is stopping the system from sending electricity to the to spark plugs.

I would check the fuel but it wouldn't make any sense the goal first would be to get the spark plugs to spark.

So before I was getting ODBII codes for the throttle but now it's only P1720, P1721, and P1727.

The codes above seem to be point to CAN Timeout.

Is it possible to still crank the car if the key and the car are mismatch? meaning there is no pairing between the car and the key transponder?
My key can remote unlock and lock the car.

Note: My auto body place has a voltage tester and said the battery is good and passed the test. So i don't know yet if i should buy another battery, Cant return if it's not the battery.
I mean how often does the battery create this sort of problem?

Anyone can help me out on this, much much appreciated

I dont have a voltage tester but the power coming from the DME to the Throttle body is pulsating. Also no power is going to the spark plugs. So My guess is it has to do with something in the DME. or it needs to be reset. Do you know if the DIS V57 can reset the bmw DME?
