Rattle at Right Rear of Cabin

Does anyone have a rattle coming from the right rear of their car? While it is still present, it is reduced when the rear and side power window shades are up. If so, what if anything has the dealer done to remedy same? Thank you.

Probably not enough padding under the shelf, sounds like the rattle in the E46.

You probably need to do something similar, here is how I fixed mine in the 3er: Double DIY: Rear Window Shelf Refurbish & Rattle Solution

God damned rattles. Filed a complaint with bmw usa about a dealer for failing to adequately handle rattle issues. One of the piece of **** speakers is starting to make some noise as well. These are minor issues but are annoying and have no business going ignored in a 100k ride.

Thank you very much for your insight, but I'm ready to start dismantling my new car. :| Very savvy you to diagnose and correct your E46, however!

Yeah, not the easiest job. The 'simple solution' some people do (but it doesn't fully solve the rattle) is to take off the HK sub and stuff padding or a tennis ball cut in half into the gap. I haven't looked that hard at the trunk when I'm in my buddy's 7er but maybe you can do something like that.

Rattle in my car turned out to be the over head small panel on the ceiling above the rear seats. I popped it off....put it back on and the rattle is gone.
