iPod Connected via White Apple Cord

Mi iPod has been connected via the white apple cord since I took delivery Sept/12. No updates to F10’s software or iPod and now it doesn’t show up on my external list. Anyone else had this happen? Any fixes? I’ve tried other cords etc and nada…. Really don’t want to take to the dealer again……

Try disconnecting your iPod and rebooting it (switch the lock switch back and forth a number of times, then, with the switch in the unlocked position and the iPod held horizontally, hold down the center button and the twelve o'clock menu position at the same time for about ten seconds, or until the screen goes black and the Apple logo appears, indicating the beginning of a reboot). If a reboot doesn't happen, make sure that the iPod doesn't need to be recharged and try again.

After the reboot, reconnect to the car with the white Apple cable, and the car should recognize your iPod again.

This happens to me with my iPod Classic every month or so, but I have no idea why. The work-around is pretty quick and (so far) totally effective.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Common problem - just disconnect and reboot iPod.
