No I'm not. It was just an easy way to bargain for a discount. Based on other replies I've seen in this thread though, it looks like I should have started lower. I have read that with a Euro delivery, there is no quota attributed to the local dealer and so it's easier to go for a bigger discount.

The 535i M Sport I ordered had an MSRP of $64,720. I paid $59,300. I think that's about 8% off MSRP. What do you guys (gals) think????

2012 Alpine White, M Sport Package, Premium Package, Tech Package, Comfort Package, Premium Sound, Ceramic Controls -- paid invoice! Took three days of negotiating and executed the deal last day of the month. I called/emails dealerships within 600 miles of my location. If you are patient enough you can get your price, to a certain point. Every dealer gets $1260 regardless of selling price.

wow.. everyone is getting great deal.
I guess I didn't really play hard ball. Just offered $59K for $62,145 MSRP and they accepted. I guess I should have offered invoice (think around $58.2) Oh.. I didn't take the financing credit cause I went with BofA instead. |

yep
That's why this forum is awesome. The only thing is to read before you buy not after. Looking at the deals members have gotten and getting connections for Account Managers at different dealers, you can't go wrong and you can't go much more over invoice.

Hi everyone,
I have a leased 2009 535i that has only 2 payments left. The next payment is Tuesday, so when I received an offer via the pull forward program where if I lease or buy a new BMW, BMWFS will waive my last 2 payments (saving me around $1100). I went in to my dealer today, and he made me this offer on a 2012 535i. Space Grey Metallic with Black Dakota Leather Cold Weather Package Premium Package Sport Package Technology Package Steptronic Auto Transmission Satellite Radio with 1 year subscription BMW Apps Net Total = 62,550 Destination Charge = 895 Total MSRP = 63,445 Discount = 1,450 Sale Price = 61,995 Rebate = 1,500 Advanced Payments = 874.60 Upfront Charges = 45.00 Total Cap Reduction = 1,500 Due On Delivery = 919.60 36 month lease @ .00185 with $1500 rebate for 12,000 miles per annum. Deposit--- Monthly Amount $2800----- $852.11 $3800----- $821.58 $4800----- $791.05 The car is at the VPC (or will arrive there tomorrow), so they said that they could arrange the deal and I would pick it up when it comes in. They have a nice 528i in stock, and he made me a similar offer on that. 2012 BMW 528i Carbon Black Metallic with Black Nappa Leather M Sport Package Premium Package Technology Package Sport Automatic Transmission with Shift Peddles Heated front seats Satellite Radio with 1 year subscription BMW Apps Total 58.750 Destination Charge 875 MSRP 59,625 Discount - 1,500 Sale Price - 58,125 Total Rebates - 1,500 Advanced Payments - 817.71 Upfront Charges - 45.00 Total Cap Reduction - 1,500 Due on Delivery - 862.71 36 month lease @ .00185 with $1500 rebate for 12,000 miles per annum. Deposit--- Monthly Amount $2800----- $758.56 $3800----- $728.03 $4800----- $697.51 I haven't haggled with them yet, as I was running late for an appointment, but looking at what you are getting, I don't seem to be getting anywhere as good a deal as you folks ![]() Oh, and I tried to get a figure on my car. Residual is 36,700, and they told me that they were unable to give me a lower price on that. I don't believe that to be entirely accurate either! Given the figures above, and your buying experiences so far, what would you reckon would be a proper counter offer from my side? Or, should I wait until my lease is up in May and hope that they have better deals then? Thanks!!

My father went with me yesterday when I went to sign the paperwork on my Performance Center Delivery 135i. He fell in love with a Cashmere Silver 528i at the dealership and went back today and bought it. The MSRP was $54,145. Invoice was $49,830. Out the door price including taxes, fees, etc. was $51,000.

Question did the dealer offer to pull your car ahead or was that a marketing letter from BMW? makes a difference ... for the pull ahead the dealer has to BUY your car.... they can't send it back to BMW so they have to WANT YOUR CAR to put on their lot. If they don't want your car.. no pull-ahead.
Bottom line is how much over invoice are you getting car for that's what I want to know? FORGET ABOUT including the rebate.

With respect to price over invoice, how do I determine the invoice price? After reading what you had written, I realized that the rebate comes from BMW and shouldn't be part of the negotiation with the dealer. Thanks Greg!

Does "invoice" include Destination charge ($895), MACO ($400) and training/service fees ($180)? I understood that it did NOT (or maybe only Destination is included), but I have a dealer saying all 3 are included. And they want 2.5% mark-up over their definition of invoice. I'm reaching out to other dealers, but this is the first quote I've received and they're not willing to budge.
Based on other reponses, it appears this dealer is way above the going market rate. Comments? |
