when i back up i hear a grinding sound on my front driver side only when i turn the stearing wheel so i figured it was the brakes grinding and i changed the brakes all around . and i still hear the grinding everytime i put it in reverse and turn the wheel .can any body tell me what it could be much help needed thanks

Did you check your wheel wells to see where your tires are rubbing? Because that's what is going on. Sounds like you blew a ton of money on brakes you didn't need.

brakes were nothing i got a hook up on parts and stuff so i dont pay much brakes cost me 40 bucks for front and back lol yea i checked the wheel wells tires dont rub it sounds more like grinding metal when i back up but if im driving foward and turn you don't hear anything its only when im backing up . its crazy

wheel bearings ill look in to that thanks but i will have to change both of them just in case the other one goes lol

definitely need to replace both at the same time. im assuming you know how to check for play in the bearing?

Often times they can't even be heard under 30mph, so the fact that the OP can only hear the grinding noise when turning while reversing suggests (to me, at least) that there is rubbing of some sort happening.

Agreed with Karl. Wheel bearings are a 'replace as needed' part.
