Wiring Harness

I believe if you look up his username and PM him, he'll get right back to you. Or do a search for a forum he has replied too, and PM that way.

I just installed the harness last week, and its pretty legit. Very happy with it.

Me too please

I'll also be inquiring about a harness, Technic, once I get the PM ability here. Better than e90post.com though, they required >5 posts + 24-48hrs wait before granting that privilege. I mean, a man just wanna send a PM . . .

Here we go

Hey Technic, I've been reading a lot in the last few weeks and am about to take the plunge. I have the standard 10 speaker system and would like to add MS-8, BSW speakers, and some sort of amp. From what I've read, I'd like to do the upgrades in that order, as that would allow me to spend maybe 600-800 at a time for a phased upgrade. And I'm pretty sure I see the value in the MS-8 even on its own, whereas BSW and "some kind of amp" can be figured out as I build the system.

My main question is that I don't exactly get how I'm supposed to use the harness. I see it in pictures and I see that everyone buys it, but then different people split it in 2, tap it, whatever. From what I understand, I need to take the harness and plug it in to the input cable that goes in to the stock amp in the trunk, thereby bypassing the stock amp. But then do I tap the harness wires there, or can I plug that other end straight in to an MS-8? And how do I connect the MS-8 to the speakers, do I need another harness?

I'll be PMing you for the price of the harness on the side though

FYI you guys should read this

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323

It will answer a lot of your questions and there are many examples of
systems and a lot of them are technic configurations and they almost all
use his harness.

Sorry I initially posted the wrong link corrected now

Thanks ctuna, I had a feeling my questions might have been answered previously. I'll look at that post and try to refine my plan some.

If you have Hi Fi you don't kneed a processor

You can make a really kick ass system with just aftermarket speakers and a amp.

BMW uses the same basic three types

BMW uses the same basic three types of stereo
across the 1 to 5 series since the e90 debut.
I think that should include the z series to.
There are some small differences but basically the same.
Don't know about the 6 and higher.

I got one about a month ago. Works great but fitting behind the stereo was a pain.

I sent him a private message and he got back to me within 2 days. He is a little slow with replies but I'm sure he has a 9-5 regular job and doesn't have the time to check his messages all the time.
