It's free form, but we leave the lot together at 8:30 for the first leg. Most people get to the diner starting at 7:30. The Diner is only minutes from the hotel.

Thanks. I'm going to take you literally on the "only minutes" Here in Texas that can easily mean 25 miles.

Actually we re-vamp'd our plans....we're now staying at the Bretton Arms both nights. No availability at the Super 8 (right next to the Tilton Diner) and the Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn are both now more expensive than the Bretton arms, so we nixed our Tilton Diner start for this year.

A buddy of mine and I agree that a real diner is something you need to do every so often.

My wife takes a different tack, but that's what happens when you put two X chromosomes next to each other.

I am both nights at Mt Washington hotel. We do the awesome breakfast at the hotel. Way better then some diner

Besides who wouldn't want to see Furball when they wake up?

For those that haven't been, the Tilton Diner is awesome. I will miss filling up there (me, not the car). But we'll just have to slum it at the Bretton Arms.

According to Google Maps it is a three minute drive.

A couple of years ago one of the attendees made it in one minute but since he wasn't driving a BMW he was not invited back.

I grew up in Rochester and never had (or even heard of) a Garbage Plate. I was with some people today who live in Rochester and they told me that the original Nick Tahous Garbage Plate has been copied by about 30 or more restaurants in the area including an upscale establishment that offers a "Plat de Refuse".

Upstate NY is also home to the "Texas Hot" and the "White Hot"

I was no stranger to the NHRA tracks in Houston and Dallas in the days when Kenny Bernstien was king of the quarter mile record, driving the Budweiser King, TopFuel Dragster.
