You sure about that Professor?

Wise:
1. Properly, having knowledge; hence, having the power of discerning and judging correctly, or of discriminating between what is true and what is false; between what is fit and proper, and what is improper; as a wise prince; a wise magistrate. Solomon was deemed the wisest man. But a man may be speculatively and not practically wise. Hence,
2. Discrete and judicious in the use or applications of knowledge; choosing laudable ends, and the best means to accomplish them. This is to be practically wise.

So I guess it all comes down to number one or number two...

If you'd like to join, there's a small caravan of natives that roll together on to Tilton. DSX usually leads the charge.

Since pretty much all the Bimmers involved in this event are far sportier than mine, I've usually got everyone's six.

I'll be driving up to my buddies place the night before in Nashua, where we will leave behind my 540 and take his M5 for the day trip.

Totally going to hit Tilton Diner for breakfast.

Hi All.

Emission was kind enough to make a sticky thread (closed) with some details about the auction.

I joined the social group.

Also, I added a couple items to the auction. I have one or two more, just gotta get them up.

If you are donating something to the auction then please pm/email me a picture, and description. I will then add it.

I just sent out PMs to the invitees who did not respond to the invitation to join the C2C4 group.
We will be using this as a central place to post information about the event so please respond to the invitation and join this exclusive group.
If you are interested in joing the group and did not receive an invitation send me a PM.

When I committed to CtoC4, there were only a couple of local CCA events I hoped I would not have to miss. Naturally, two days after I booked the rooms, one was confirmed for June 8th: Our 3rd (?) annual biergarten car show at the Deutscher Club of Clark's open house (a real biergarten, right here in NJ!). This is one of my favorite events of the year and it's been bothering me that there's just no way to participate, drive 6.5 hours to Bretton Woods and not be too dead to drive all day Saturday (and half of Sunday).

Then I remembered this place called Massachusetts.

More accurately, that it's a known haunt of several who will be descending on the Tilton Diner and thus a reasonable waypoint/launchpad to split the northward trip. Soooo, do any of you locals recommend any particular hotels along the 495/93 corridor, roughly between Chelmsford and Salem (NH)? That area breaks the drive into about four hours on Friday and another hour (-ish, to the diner) on Saturday morning, which might be doable.

So far the Holiday Inn and Fairfield Inn in Tewksbury are the leading contenders:

I haven't decided yet whether or not to do this, but I'm thinkin' .....

I know how you you feel, missing the Deutscher Club night is a big disappointment but no way to do both

Are you really thinking about partaking of the biergarten's many pleasures and then driving 4 hours at night just so you can get up after 5 hours of sleep? Please let me talk you out of it. You'll be glad I did. Tell you what- we'll set up a second night for club members at The Deutscher Club on one of their other public nights (Jul 13, Aug 24, Oct 6). I'm sure there will be people who would make a second appearance!

Well, I would have only one or two even if I stayed local so gemütlichkeit is the biggest loss. As for the drive, I've criss-crossed the Mid-Atlantic/Midwest/Northeast from Virginia to Ohio to Maine so many times that four hours doesn't faze me, and five hours' sleep is just another night. (Plus I would bolt by 7:00-ish to grab an extra hour.)

The big challenge in my mad scheme is not the drive, nor sleep, nor even cutting the biergarten night to only 2-3 hours. It's how and when to remove ~300 miles of inevitable nocturnal insect strikes on arrival!

From what I can gather, if you park outside of whatever hotel Kat may be staying at, the detail elves show up overnight and in the morning you will be looking good!

Forgot to say earlier: I rather like your Plan B there, TZ! We'll have to find out which club is featured on each day. I am sure the PCA will bring a great selection of gonzo hardware, and a lot full of classic Benzes is sure to be a treat, but I have my doubts about the Audi club. We could expect a couple of R8s at least, and if we're lucky maybe someone has a Quattro rally car tucked away somewhere...and then we go home early.

Edit: I just remembered, there is no Audi club. The VW club is the fourth co-sponsor. (Seriously. The jokes write themselves....)

You guys do realize that after 8pm the detail elves demand double time compensation, right? Of course, for a really big bonus they just might slip and let you know where they will be.

Afterall, detail elves are profit motivated.

Silly Avi

And I will once again join Furbs as one of many unofficial photographers of the cloud climbers. I can't see two feet in front of my face ( a hint to anyone driving in front of me) but I do take decent pictures.
