Soooo....

As much as I would love for my E93 to actually make the trip, (and BTW: that was on the table), this go round, the E93's participation is going to be a "front end" and "back end" road trip. We are officially naming this the "Austin to Boston" Trip. We will be driving the E93 300 miles on the front end/backend to join up with the C2C4 event. Not exactly a road trip, but in the greater scheme of things, it will have to do.

I'm hoping I can convince herself to make the climb again. She contends that she's already cheated death once, so it's a law of averages thing. The Mt Washington Inn may be just the hook needed though to get her to the "kang" at least. We leave for Lake Como on the 14th so probably just a Friday overnight go home Saturday night affair.

Really? Kind of early for it to be all booked up.

What's going on there that it would say that?

I contacted them and the person I dealt with last year e-mailed me back. She is on vacation and will get back to me when she returns next week.

EDIT: Short of confirming a reservation I didn't get a warning for being booked on a reservation of Fri, Sat and leaving Sun. It would be way too early for the place to be booked, unless they have some MASSIVE wedding. Last year they had a wedding and the place was no where near full

We'll be staying over again Fri night but like last year we'll be doing it in Tilton. The trip officially starts there at the (awesome) Tilton Diner. No sense backtracking 30 minutes in the morning when there are decent places to stay right in Tilton (chain hotels, nothing fancy, but clean and cheaply priced). Saturday night, though, we'll either be at the Mt. Washington Hotel or the Bretton Arms next door.

If you guys decide to stay at a Marriott brand (as opposed to Mt Washington) then let me know. I can try and get a better rate there too (platinum)

It's possible they tried for a single night reservation. Last year, that was not possible until the group rate was in effect. All the non-group "Saturday night only" rooms (both of them) were booked.

I am very excited to finally meet all you fine folks in person.

Just went to the Mount Washington Hotels website and there are rooms available. I believe that there is a 2 night minimum stay at the main hotel. We Furby to work his magic on prices.

My contact is on vacation and she will be getting back to me on Friday. Don't worry folks, we got time. Also, as I have noticed the past two years - they weren't sold out.

This will be my first trip north of Boston, if you don't count getting stuck in Newfoundland 9/11/01. I grew up literally in the shadow of Pikes Peak in Colorado so I am a mountain goat at heart. I'm looking forward to the mental comparison of the Pikes Peak Highway to the MWAR. Something tells me it can be every bit as daunting.

LOL. The first time we went to Switzerland we had an Audi A4 rental that we picked up in Stuttgart and returned in München. The way the agent inspected that car upon its return, I was beginning to wish I had brought my detailing kit along. It's a lot easier finding a BMW 3er rental over there than it is here, that's for sure.
