New England is beautiful in the snow. You'd love it. There is satisfaction in shoveling and cold weather. It's a lot better than the in between, 35 degrees and raining, no snow, lousy excuse for a winter winter like we just had. Yuch.

Wasn't sure what to expect when you join a bunch of people I didn't know and who seemed to have some "interesting relationships" over here on the E90 forum, but it was easy to see why everyone was keen to participate.

Phenomenal scenery, great roads. I really enjoyed it. In fact I enjoyed it so much, I got up at 7am on Sunday morning and drove Bear Notch Road in both directions before collecting my stuff and heading home. I headed up to Lancaster NH and then headed west across Vermont in the general direction of Lake Champlain and drove up the east shore and then down Hero Island and Isle La Motte and then south to Lake George before the last stretch of the NY Thruway to home. Put over 1000 happy miles on my car.

I love the pictures and videos everyone is posting and I second the idea of a Roundel submittal- there's a cover shot in those pics for sure for old Satch to pick! I don't have a fancy DSLR, only a lowly smartphone camera but here are some shots:
Hey it's my bald self in the first pic
It was great meeting you Tony!
We were wondering why you sneaked out of Bretton Arms so early that red topless beauty of yours deserves more than a thousand miles.
Looking forward to the next year!!!

I love Pepa's generosity ( a.k.a. "Mrs. Bemo"). Hoping for another worthy cause that we can support next year!

Let us know if we can in any way contribute towards the planning for next year's event.

Thanks again for organizing the event, selecting the scenic back roads and being such a good sport during the auction.

Hey I read about the Texas chapter in one of the Roundel issues..."The Texas Road Monkeys" and their slogan of "Thou Shalt Not Sully Thy Wheels on the Interstate." I'd say you go for it. Maybe a bunch of us Tri-State types can link up together for next year's drive to NH. Please keep that custom M330xi away from me...it has a scary tendency of awakening Bemo's inner speed demon

I like the smaller font better. Beautiful picture. Can I purchase a high res copy without the text? I think I'll get it framed for the office.

What the hell, let's do it. It's only 2,000 odd miles one way and we all know your cabrio needs to start racking up some miles.

I'm not sure if I could convince Ms. Dub to go, but I could likely be granted permission to fly solo. :-) Little Miss Sunshine would be a tad unhappy with a road trip of this kind of proportion, not to mention the need to stop for potty breaks every 45 minutes. She'd be happier keeping the fort up at home and someone has to feed the cats anyway.

We're going to be de-Stickied

Now that CtoC4 is a memory I've asked our mod's to de-sticky the thread. Look for us down low for a while, then we'll fade off into the back pages.

Not to worry, it's in the subscribed links and still easy browsing. Professor probably has it as his homepage by now...

For our consideration, an organization called Minis on Top also does a Climb, they are expecting 500 cars this year! If anyone is interested in how they put on the production and where they go, here's the link...

I've also gotta say... DSX picked out some great roads when he started this thing. That back stretch, to and from the Mt. Washington Hotel, is just beautiful... really nice pavement and it feels to get some speed up after the crawl down the motor road.
It wouldn't be the longest road trip I've been on, but, the longest in my bimmer. A few others in a caravan might make it easier to imagine.

All the small towns we passed through were so picturesque, so "New Englandy", and so refreshing after our miles and miles of asphalt, cookie cutter "Planned Communities", and mega-Malls. Saturday morning it was no different. If you had a tape recorder in our car, the chatter was, "Oh, isn't that pretty!" "Oh, look at those flowers!" "Oh, isn't that just like a postcard picture." Then I thought about what winter must be like, that far North.
Kat,
Great pics and report. How much you contributed to the local economy with purchases of 'maple syrup' in NH...a good part of their GDP. A quart or so back to Texas?

At a kiddy table with lqaddict, enjoying a flavored yogurt, behaving ourselves like not-so-ordinary citizens.

This was BEFORE Furby caught up with us on I91, which set off the "mini event"....

Are you kidding? DSX didn't even let us stop for bathroon breaks, much less shopping!

No maple syrup this time.

This was a "timed" event? I would expect proper "loo" breaks if the participants were over 45.

Just now catching up - I spent 3 days in Charlottesville VA at a photography festival and am still recovering. (www.look3.org, click on the blog link).

I'd love to do this - looks like you guys had a blast. Is it always the same time of year, so I can sort of block out the time? I just can't miss LOOK3.

A caravan is a fine idea....and if anyone wants to put together some event down this direction, let me know. We have windy roads and thoroughbred farms and bourbon distilleries

I have trouble remembering the names of my own cousins.... 500 people might be a bit overwhelming, don't you think? As it is, we're beginning to run out of space in the lower parking lot.

BTW, we need a person to go up early and direct traffic to other parking lots. We need to claim that lower space for us only. Possession is 9/10ths of the law, right?

We can let in the occasional Taurus and Porsche... but we have to have standards.
