We discussed having SO drive the car for a day or so by himself, then have me fly to to a convenient tie point, since I'm already a little overextended on vay-kay time. Then we figured out that just the gasoline would be more than two airline tickets.

I really need to figure out how to retire, so I can have time for driving trips.

Unfortunately, it's going to be a very quick trip - fly in on Friday - leave on Sunday.

There are 3 properties at the Mount Washington Resort, the Hotel Mt. Washington, the Bretton Arms Inn and the Lodge at Bretton Arms. The Bretton Arms Inn and the Hotel Mt. Washington are on the main property and the Lodge at Bretton Arms, which is a motel like structure, is across the road. A stay at any of the properties allows full access to all resort facilites. At this point approximately 1/3 of the 200 rooms in the main hotel are available with a 2 night minimum stay. At this point there is not a 2 night minimum stay at the Bretton Arms or the Lodge although there may be as the event gets closer. Depending on our numbers we may be able to get a private dining room for Friday night.

This is all in advance of Furby negotiating a group rate so all of this may change.

This is a link to the Mount Washington Resort web site:

For you History Buffs: (copied from Wikipedia)
================================================== ============

The Bretton Woods Agreements

The Bretton Woods system of monetary management established the rules for commercial and financial relations among the world's major industrial states in the mid 20th century. The Bretton Woods system was the first example of a fully negotiated monetary order intended to govern monetary relations among independent nation-states.

Preparing to rebuild the international economic system as World War II was still raging, 730 delegates from all 44 Allied nations gathered at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, United States, for the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference. The delegates deliberated upon and signed the Bretton Woods Agreements during the first three weeks of July 1944.

================================================== =========================

I'm personally looking forward to staying at the main hotel where history was made!

I wouldn't look forward to meeting DSX too much.

I looked forward to meeting him in 2009 and was bitterly disappointed...

While not the same as the Mt. Washington Hotel, I have stayed in the Mountain View Grand, which is not that far off. It is somewhat smaller and doesn't have quite the same history, but it was recently renovated and is still a fine old hotel. Rooms would be a bit more reasonable as well.

With friends like you, who needs enemas?

Hey, are you holding out on us or just letting the excitement build? Or do I have to send another engraved invitation? Show, or no show?

For some reason I am imagining an "invitation" engraved on a scrap brake rotor and flang through ///M-rated's front window.

FYI DSX, the link to the hotel in the OP does not work. I think you need to use the "Insert link" button instead of letting the forum automagically convert it (address was too long?).

Thanks Zeichen, can't say what went wrong. I tested to make sure none of the links were stale and they all worked before I posted the thread.
Oh well, it's fixt now.

Funny thing about your idea for the engraved invitation. The only thing that saves him is that the price of scrap metal is high right now.

I drive an M3, you know how we roll. Mysterious creatures of myth and legend drifting through life guided by the whim of The Fates.

I want the rest of the attendees to wonder "will we see an M3 this year?"...kind of like bird watchers hoping to see an osprey in New Hampshire. Anticipation is half the fun.

[I appreciate the comments will be...I think it is an M3, but it is difficult to tell because of the grime]

Yeah, I'm coming. My RSVP is on the other side of the brake caliper I found on my passneger seat of "Purity the M3" this morning. It should arrive soon in the manner in which it was delivered.

We had an ///M3 last year. Apparantly these cars are a dime a dozen. I believe the 2006 330xi is a much rarer phenomenon!

Oh, dang it, Furby. You got me.

I am going to sit in my novillo leather seats with lumbar support and thigh extensions and sob gently into my sporty M-performance steering wheel!
