How do you remove the Business CD/MIDI mounting bracket?

Does anyone know how to remove the Business CD/MIDI mounting bracket out of a 2002 e39?

Based on what I am seeing I need to drop my entire dashboard just to pull the mounting bracket out due to the two top lips (left and right side) that were placed behind the panel. I removed the MIDI and the CD Module. I removed the wood trim including the trim that flips down over the CD module.

I used the search feature and read about five different links that claim to show how to do it. They did not.

That's my analysis, too, after examining the cage years ago.

You've got to remove the glove box. Then remove the wood trim strips from both sides of the head unit. Remove ALL the screws behind the wood trim, and I think there's one screw accessable only if you open the passenger side door. Then you spread both halves of the dash apart, pushing to the left and the right. And I mean PUSH. Just when you think you're going to split the dash in half, you can wiggle the stupid bracket out. There is nothing easy about it, and I may have left out a few screws that you have to remove.

Thanks for the insights!

Although I do not recommend it, the left panel was flexible enough for me to rip the bracket out without cracking the dashboard. I did remove the wood strip and the screw behind the strip first. After I forced he left side out I was able to maneuver the rest withotu dropping the entire dashboard.

To all, PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!.
