BMW News: BMW Connected Apps - Updated to support Bimmerfest RSS

BMW Connected App, BMW's iPhone application extends the features of the iDrive system using the app and connection from the iPhone. BMW has released an updated version of the app on Apple's ITunes store that has two new features -

Wiki Local
Provides Wikipedia style articles based on your location. Find out interesting facts about whats around you on your iDrive screen using the iDrive controller.

RSS New Feeds
Bring your RSS feeds to the iDrive screen. Pre select your RSS feeds and then have them displayed and even read to you with BMW's text to speech function. Most importantly this allows you to get the Bimmerfest RSS feed on your iDrive screen!

The BMW Connected App is free on ITunes and works with iOS4 and above. Your BMW must be equipped with "BMW Apps" (6NR0) and connected by USB or snap-in adapter.

Adding the Bimmerfest.com RSS Feed

• Download the app from ITunes and open it
• Tap "BMW Apps" in the bottom right
• Tap the news option from the list of options (2nd down)
• You will see a list of default RSS feeds. Tap Edit to add Bimmerfest
• Tap the plus (+) sign in the top left
• Enter the following RSS feed URL in to the top input box. Do not use the app search feature, the app has a glitch and it doesn't work
• Bimmerfest RSS Feed URL - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/external.php?type=RSS2
• Tap go and the app will find our RSS feed and tell you it found 1 result.
• Tap on the result to select it and then tap done.
• You've now added Bimmerfest latest threads to your BMW Connected App and can get the latest threads on your iDrive screen
