Where can I get someone to "Pimp my Ride"

I've been watching MTV's Pimp my Ride with some interest for a couple of weeks now and have enjoyed the makeover they have been giving these cars. A couple of thoughts...

How do some of the cars they feature pass state inspections? Usually the engines are sound but they don't have seatbelts and sometimes floors

Another thought, where in the northeast can I get someone to do something similar to my brothers old Mitsu. I badly needs a paint job and perhaps some interior refinements. How much does stuff like that cost? Sometimes they mention that they've put 20K worth of upgrades in the cars but how much is labor and how much is parts (I'm guessing the over the top stereo equipment is a bulk of the cost? )

Other than the really large (?22") flat screen monitors, I'd say the most expensive item is the paint. Do they fix the mechanicals?

What I wonder is if any of these cars have been broken into or have gotten stolen.

who needs seatbelts when you can use your huge gold chain in its place?

I love that show! I have a TiVo season pass for it, and we have a couple of episodes to catch up on (that we missed on vacation).

Last night we watched the '89 Mustang transformation. Although the final product is really extreme, the show itself is VERY entertaining.

The interior guy Ish cracks me up bad

The one time I watched it, I loved it. It was the California surfer girl and her old '60s Mustang. Very entertaining, but I have no idea when it's on (and never bothered to look to see where I can find MTV program listings).

I wonder about the cars getting stolen myself... some of that equipment is worth a fortune.

Also, they do a lot of custom stuff, like custom wheels and the like. None of the people on the show look like they could afford to replace the wheels on the cars if they did get damaged/stolen.

I do enjoy the show. The guys are pretty entertaining and the paint jobs look really sweet. They really are innovative and creative with the cars and make them quite unique. Its a great way to make your car stand out.

Overhauled is the best one out of all of them. The cars don't come out as ghetto pimpin' (which is good, IMO) but you have to like flames because every car they do has a full hand-made flame job.

yes, but much better. it's on TLC Tuesday Nights (that's tonight).

They actually take the people's cars WITHOUT THEM KNOWING IT. They accomplish this in a varitey of ways (they always have an inside source that helps them 'steal' the cars for 7 days).

Overhaulin' is much more in-depth than Pimp. They completely refinish the exterior/interior and stereos, but they ALSO completely redo suspension/engines/everything.

Last week they did Ian Ziering's Camaro, but usually it's not a celebrity show.

the El Camino they did was SWEET

I just checked out that Discovery channel link. Chip Foose is a regular on Overhaulin'? He's a pretty big deal, isn't he?

I think he's pretty well-renowned in custom-building hot rods, yeah.

He's the lead designer for every episode.

Foose is known more as a designer than a builder, but I've seen him get his hands dirty on fabrication as well. He and Boyd Coddington (American Hot Rod) are probably some of the biggest 'household names' in rodding.

Overhaulin' is my favorite car-fix-up show. I also watch Cut Chop Rebuild and Tuner Transformations. I'll have to check out Pimp to see if it's worth it.

Except for some of the classic Cragar designs, I haven't seen any good wheel designs come out of anyone in the US, famous or not.

I wouldn't drive anything vehicles they create on the show, but I think it's an awesome show. They do some pretty cool things to the cars.
