I've gone to two shops and have yet to figure out why my light is on. Please help! Battery is new just two years old, alternator is fine that's also newer. Could it just be a bad transfer case sensor or do I potentially have a bigger issue on hand?? Thanks!!

Are you hearing a clicking noise when you turn the vehicle off?

Your problem is that the plastic gear in the crank case actuator has worn down. I purchased the new gear on Amazon and took it to a mechanic along with the YouTube video on how to install it. It was successfully done for me in about 2 hours. The gear was $35. It's called a crank case actuator gear. I haven't had any more issues after that.
Keep in mind that BMW will charge you $1400 for this same repair job.
