Did you hold the DSC button for 5 seconds? lol. If they won't go off I would guess the sensors went out, although that's odd if you we just driving along and both went out together. Get a reader hooked up and see if you have any codes. Hopefully someone who knows more can chime in and help out.

as stated above, you may have bumped the button and turned it off? the light comes on to warn you when ASC is off.

If not, I would not drive it until I figured out what is going on.

ASC system can apply rear brakes, deactivate injectors and override your electronically controlled throttle, mess with timing etc.- all to reduce torque and maintain traction..which is obviously not your problem.
You likely have one bad wheel speed sensor.

but I cannot say anymore than BB about what else it could be or how to figure it out...start at post #48.... to get an idea what you may be in for...hope you just shut it off!

When I tried accelerating it didn't go out fast as it used to before and the car wanted to turn off. I did try holding it but it stayed on

you need to explain your problem deeper than what you said:
- are the DSC lights always lit?
- are they always off?
- do they both turn on when u hold the DSC button for 5 seconds?
- do they not turn off when u hold it for 1-2 seconds after they're on?
etc...

Not to nit pick but ASC only cuts power to the rear tires. ASC was only found on the 99 model E46's. From 2000 up they have DSC which does all you describe above. Just didn't want people to find this thread in a search and get confused. My 99 323 had ASC and it is a completely different system than my 04 ZHP's DSC.

The light stays on from the moment I turn on the car. I tried holding the asc but it still nothing. I tried driving it today it feels like when I accelerate to pull out it lost most power like throttle.

Correct, it is DSC on a 2001...should know better since I look at that button almost every day.

DSC does all that ASC does, and then some, according to my Bentley's manual for 1999 thru 2001's, page 300-10, "DSC helps stablilze the vehicle in cornering and avoidance maneuvers by adjusting engine controls such as throttle, ignition, fuel injection and the application of brake pressure to the wheels individually".

"DSC is active throughout the driving experience, unlike ASC which is only active during braking and accleration".

It also states that turning off the DSC system does not disable ABS or ASC functions...did not know DSC was like that...I need to shut it of more knowing I still got ASC.
