Bubbles can happen on low profile tires no matter the construction. I had them happen on my Conti DWS's, which are not run flat tires (same size as yours).
nature of the beast with that little rubber.

You purchased a wheel and tire warranty, right? That should square that away...

Needsdecaf;
You bring up a good point as even with the staggered setup there is slight slippage. Thanks. |

There is indeed some slip. It's very easy to break away the rear, and therefore difficult to launch it properly. I switched to conventional Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, same size as stock, staggered, on standard sport rims. I've even had problems with these tires with a pothole I hit. However, even that experience was much improved over the RFT. With the RFT hitting a pothole at a much lower speed, I experienced a loss in pressure and had to limp home. When I hit a pothole in the Michelins at around 60-70 MPH, the tire stayed together and I was able to ride on it for a while. It experienced a dreaded bubble, but the only difference in driving I experienced was a lot of vibration. I had purchased tire insurance as was able to get it replaced. Now I think the rim is bent, since I still get some vibration. I'm waiting until the pothole season clears up before I get it straightened.
