Oil sensor / remaing miles before oil change
The oil sensor in my car is bad - it stays on for about 15 seconds after ignition and then goes off. I haven't really worried about the problem because other than the warning indicator I haven't noticed any other problem. However, I have noticed lately that mileage displayed for the next oil change seems to be strange: A week ago it told me that I have 1500 miles left before an oil change, yet today it says that I have 1450 -- the problem is that I know I have driven way more than 50 miles. It doesn't seem to be calculating the mileage before next oil change correctly.
Is this irregularity because of the bad oil sensor, something else, or is it normal? And what recommendation do you all have for the oil sensor -- should I get it fixed or can I ignore it? |

Ignore the Service Interval Indicator, and just change your oil & filter every 7500 miles, and all will be good....

Yeap, i didnt know it was 7.500 Miles, Thanks to Bob i did the search on the forum and google it, found out that we should change our Oil every 7.500 instead of what the "mechanic" told me every 3,000 Miles.... so basically instead of every 4 month, im changing it every 8 month or 7500 miles! =)
