Sadly I must continue to wait. I wanted to make sure that they have the M6 coupe and 'vert as well as the M5 before I went for the course. I'll probably do it again in 2015 when the new M3/M4 comes out, but I can't wait that long to get my hands on an M6 and drive it on a track.

Nope. Considering that the pics were taken with a point-and-shoot iPhone camera and then edited using a $1.99 iPhone/iPad app, I think it would be insulting to people who know what they're doing. haha. Just posted some new pics because I needed a change for my screen saver and thought I'd share.

In short, I think it looks beautiful in concept form and is going to be a beautiful addition to the BMW lineup. As an unbiased onlooker, I think it is a great way for BMW to offer customers great BMW styling and features at a reasonable price point thus drawing new and younger customers to the brand. As a 6er owner, it is a lot like the 6er this decreasing the gap between the flagship 6er and the 4er (which is a 3er - I don't know who they're trying to kid). I can go to a Walmart in a modest area of Mobile, AL and count 10 3ers at any time of the day. The car doesn't really seem like anything special because of that. I know that the 3 is a great driver's car - I'm not trying to take anything away from the car as an engineering masterpiece - but it's common. There are three, maybe five, 6ers (including the one M6 we've gotten) in Mobile county that I know of (from seeing them and from what I've deduced from talking to the CAs), and that partially contributes to why I was willing to pay for such an expensive car.

The 6er badge definitely means something. Maybe I notice it more because of the awestruck responses I get when people ask what type of Bimmer I drive, I don't know. My age is likely involved in that response. While I say that the 6 badge means something, it is toned down by the previous generation. From my experience, most people (including salesmen at the Merc and Jaguar dealership) think my car is about $85k, like its Bangled Butt predecessor. Maybe this notion will dissolve as the F12/13 becomes better known after being on the market for a few more years.

I just noticed I started this response with, "in short." lol. My point is, I love the new 4er in a vacuum. In the real world, I hope BMW knows what they're doing - and not just from a "boost our sales" perspective.

Thought about it, but I don't really have much use for one right now. I'd rather save up and make sure in the future I don't stupidly listen to the mature voice in my head telling me that the B&O isn't worth it.

Haha. Happy to help. Feel free to steal away I went for the 64 GB on my iPhone 5 for the sold purpose of never having to worry about running out of space to store pics and videos of this car. Pathetic? Yes. But I'm okay with that lol.

Note: The above video shows that simply pulling down on the trunk isn't sufficient to close the trunk. Enough force is required to pull it all the way down and make it latch, otherwise it pops right back up (which happens more often than you'd think ).

I'm able to pull it closed consistently. The trick is to pull down to the point you think it's going to close on your hand!

Yeah, now that you mention it, it's kinda like a secret hand shake with the lid. It's a pull > slide > flick motion. Just make sure you don't use your watch hand. One wrong movement and you must chose between your fingers and a big scratch. That's a big decision in a split second
