E36 interior door panel - where can I buy replacement??

Hello E36ers,

I have a 1996 318ic (convertible) with a driver's side door panel that's about to fall off. The map pockets cracked when the door closed. I'd really like to replace the panel. I've googled and searched this forum for any vendors that may sell a new or reconditioned part. I understand that coupe door panels will also fit. The color is beige/brown with lighter beige armrest. Any ideas where I could find this part? Pic is here (hopefully)

Craigslist is your best bet. They don't make them new, so your only option is to try finding a used set which is in better condition than what you have currently.

yeah, if i ever come across coupe/vert panels i will most likely jump on them if they aren't destroyed. if nothing else just for the fact that i know someone somewhere will want them at some point in time.

i thought, though, that there was a link for a company that redid panels.

good luck, though. they appear to be tough to find.

There is a company which rebuilds them, but based on the condition of the panels in the photos, I'm guessing the OP does not want to spend that kind of money on a car which certainly needs attention elsewhere. Better to spend less money on a reasonable set of used panels and use the leftover money for other things.

Update - door card search

Hello, have been snowballed by grad school and just brought the Bimmer out for a spring cleaning, still needs that ##**& door card. I did see one for a brief second on ebay while in class, but by the time I got home....sold

The car has been garaged every winter and it now has 81,000 miles. Here's the car, so it is in good condition (excepting that door card!)

Enjoy and eagerly awaiting top down weather (today wasn't it). Refurbish or used or ...uh ANYTHING re a suitable replacement is always welcomed

All the best!

Jay318ic,
Contact FenderBender on this forum. He's parting out a 328is with tan interior and car is complete. He may have your door panels.

EDIT: And if by some form of door panel magic see below.

There are at least two black sets on there right now..........at outrageous prices. A third set that is beat to heck and they still want $130 each with shipping.

Bavarian auto recyclers are also a great source to go by.
