God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993. |

Convertible Cover Support Shocks
Ok, I took a look at the diagram at;
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...46&hg=54&fg=10 and I can't find the shocks, let alone how to get them off. For the the hood and trunk shock there is a simple snap washer (probably the wrong name), but not for on the convertible cover shocks. First, how do you get them off, and Second, what's the trick to compress them long enough to get the new one on? |

part number 4 is the shock. part number 5 is the "clamp", locate the items you can clearly see and follow them to the struts.
im sure someone on here knows what type of "clamp" that really is holding it on. you should be able to put 12 half of the strut on and push the other down(or up) into place.

Thanks,
In looking at it, it may come off at the bottom first. I'll get to the house and look. However, I've had trouble compressing the shocks. Must be a whimp! |
