Ordered my 535GT today.... but one question

I placed an order today, but was trying so hard to use the comfort access for the trunk... but never got it to work.... is it because the comfort access from the value pkg don't give this options?

does any one knows? is there a way to config the setting for the trunk to open when you place your foot under the bumper?

I ask the sales man they have no idea on this function as well...

Not sure if their website is fully up to date, but they don't mention this option on the site for the GT. The convenience package does allow you to open the trunk via the remote under power. Stock without that package doesn't power it open, but does release the latch.

went throughout the same thing with my dealer...
2012's were supposed to come with the foot tailgate opening....but mine does not work either ... calls to the dealership were met with a ill look into it but i really haven't followed up..

seems like a lot of things that WERE supposed to be added to early build 2012's were not!!

Take a look at the build date of the GT you are attempting to open. If it is an early 2012, like mine, the feature was not included. According to members of this forum with later builds - they have it. Wait for one of these guys to read this and they can tell confirm which option the feature is included....

Everytime I walk up to the car with some load - I wish I could swing my leg and open the hatch

Hey Congratulations shinandy! I'll check the posts again, but did you tell us about your build? Did you feel like you got a good deal? When is your car due to arrive?

I'll try to wave my foot under the bumper when I get back to the airport tomorrow...

same here, no one even mentioned the foot opening was an option...It may become an option for the 2013's.

Still trying - nothing :-)

Does anyone know how to hold the trunk release on the remote and only open the small trunk, not the entire hatch?

you can't open only the small trunk hatch or nothing from the fob and from the inside button
the small trunk releases only from the handle on the trunk lid...

I thought you can open the small trunk by holding the panic button for 1 sec?

I know, but on the web site if you read it really careful, it says power tailgate with comfort access comes with foot opening function, I'm not sure did they give the wrong info or what...

well my car will be here at june I guess I'll find out in 2 month lol

I think I can see my self kicking under the bumper.....

Ding - ding - ding we have a winner. Sinandy is correct. Pressing the panic button for about a second pops the trunk lid only.

Nice find!

Without the comfort access option, the trunk option on the fob only opens the small trunk...there's no way to open the big hatch (that I've found) without being there.

Looks like a nice build shinandy. So this is RWD? Did you get the BMW Apps? I'll be interested to hear how the Dynamic Handling package is on a RWD model without Active Integral Steering. Sounds like a really good price.

Any idea - where exactly does it say that these cars are suppose to come with a wave-your-foot-under-the-bumper-to-open-the-tailgate feature?? I haven't seen that mentioned. I figured that Comfort Access with the tailgate meant that if you had the fob with you, you could open the tailgate without unlocking the doors. This does happen.

My car is a February 2012 build and foot-waving just brought about strange stares, nothing else.

Yes' it's RWD I live in sunny south California, where I will never need 4WD, well in most cases.lol

And I love RWD car, and no I didn't get the BMW app, I didnt get that for my E92, but is it good? Should I get it? suggestions?

I always drive my car hard, and I love cars with good handling that's why I went for the Dynamic handling pkg. my dealer told me I'm the first person wanted that option lol

As for the trunk release, if you go to the package page, and go down to value package then click on the power tailgate it will show you, well this is the exact word on BMW website

Including with comfort access is a hands-free tailgate opening function. A sensor detects a precisely defined movement of your foot below the rear bumper, saving you the hassle of reaching for your keys when both hands are full. The tailgate can also be opened via the key fob. guys we must fight for this, it's on the web site....

I just called my dealer about this. Apparently this is a very specific motion you need to make. They said it's like kicking a soccer backwards. I can't get it right, so I'm going to have them show me the specific move.

Here is a video for a 3-series, but I couldn't replicate.
