2013 X6 - with/ without full LED package? Confuse

I ordered my 2013 X6 on late February. Didn't know that it will not come with full LED headlight as standard. Now I am confuse as to get the full LED headlight or not to get.

My question is whether the standard headlight on 2013 X6 come with LED corona ring like the 2012 X5 and 2012 3 series coupe? 2013 X6 will have the same headlight as the pre-facelift? with/without the LED corona ring?

Does any of you guys seen the 2013 X6 without the full LED light? I can't find any picture of the 2013 X6 without the full LED headlight. The press conference pictures of the facelift X6 all have the full LED headlight.

Thanks!

While ordering an X6, I recently had a similar ? Since the dealer didn't have a 2013 X6 to show the difference, my CA used the new 6 coupe to explain. He turned on the lights of both at the same time. The "standard" corona ring on the 2013 X6 will be white like the new X5/3/5 series. The "option" LED corona ring is actually a row of horizontal lights that emit a brighter light. Both look pretty good, however the "option" LED stood out more and gave the car an extra pop. You'll see both coming, but you'll see the one with the option LED first! As much as I didn't want to spend $2650 ($1950 for LED and $750 for Climate Package), once I saw them, I had to have them!

Thanks. I was trying to compare the headlight of the 6 series too and it looks so much more modern and clean with the LED. I think I will go with the LED.

I am wondering if the X6 eyebrow (the strip above the corona rings) is lit up like the 6 series? I saw one 6 series with LED on the road at night and the headlight absolutely looks different. The whole headlight is lit up not just one spot like regular xenon light.

BMW please come up with a comparison picture between LED and xenon light on the 2013 X6!

I was told the same thing. (see above) I did get the LED option, since the LED lights were brighter. Maybe you can get a retro fit.

I'm in the market for a new X6 as well, and y'all have helped me a lot on this X6 forum. A big thanks for this thread. I too thought the standard headlights would at least have the new LED halo (angel) rings around the HID xenon headlights, just like the new 6 and 5 series. One dealer even told me that it would come that way. This past weekend, I found a new 2013 on the dealers lot equipped with the standard headlights, and I can confirm that they were the old YELLOW halo/corona rings! Not sharp as all; quite disappointing. It appears that if I buy new, than the full LEDs are a must. See picture of black 2013 X6.

This doesn't make sense. The 2012 and 2013 X5 had the LED angel eyes standard. And the X5 and X6 are made in the same factory in South Carolina. All they have to do at the factory is change the bulb to an LED bulb. I don't understand why they didn't do that on the 2013 X6.

Because....they want to make an extra $1,950 for adding that as an option...and they CAN

Not so simple. The headlights with LED halos are quite different. Voltages etc. You, as the consumer, can put in an aftermarket LED bulb but it is not as bright as the OEM designed headlight LED halos. At least not as of early 2012, newer aftermarket bulbs might be close. Regardless, it's the first thing I change. Get rid of the yellow.

LUX seems to be the most popular around here to upgrade to the bright white halos.
