Exactly how thin is the Unibody

Any enthusiast knows that the Unibody at the subframe mounts are a major weak spot on the e36 chassis. I know the story goes that BMW left too much up to the computers to decide structural integrity; therefore leaving that area too thin. But exactly how thin is it? Does anybody have an measurements?

They are not problematic unless you track your car or abuse it. Doing repeated burnouts, dropping the clutch from 6k rpm, etc., will eventually cause damage, but if you drive your car like a sane person, it won't be a problem. I don't know the actual sheet metal thickness, but I don't know why that would even matter, since you can install reinforcement kits and not have to worry about it.

It was just out of curiosity. I'm actually about to do the reinforcements to my car. It's over the 200k mark and it's going to be autocrossed.
