Question 650i rear brake light/strip above the trunk emblem

Does anyone know where to direct me to order/buy a new one of these? The far right hand corner is cracking off from the heat here in South Florida.

Perhaps a reliable website for parts? I already have someone that can replace it/install it...(NOT the dealership who charges an arm and a leg!)

Thanks for any assistance!

I regret to say that I haven't had it done yet. It's still bouncing around in my trunk! There's a guy that provides auto services in the garage attached to the building where my office is in Ft. Lauderdale that offered to do it (not for free) but we keep missing each other. Meanwhile, I met one of my neighbors who has a highly modified M3 and he offered to loan me the tools to do the job neatly. I'm really tempted to take it on myself because others have reported that it's very simple. But I'm really ham fisted and if there's a way to screw it up, I'll find it! Were you going to use someone in the PBG area?

Here's a thread on the main forum with a little more info on the install. Reportedly you can order the light from getbmwparts.com for $124, and the install is fairly easy.

Good luck.

I just replaced mine in my 05 645 and no special tools were required to release the connector from the light. Should be able to work it out with gentle force assuming they didn't change the connector type. The biggest pain for me was connecting the wires to the new light, the wires could be a few inches longer.
