E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135. |

135i coupe - less colors to chose from online customization
Hello folks,
I noticed during the last month, the online customization dropped few exterior colors for the 2012 135i. How is it likely (historically speaking) to have them back? I was waiting to order mine for october ED but I don't like the remaining colors. Do you think maybe the 2013 model will have them back? Thanks in advance. Sent from my DROIDX using Bimmer App |

Crimson red is the one I noticed.

That annoys me. Crimson Red is one of the best colors.
I wish I understood why the Germans hate red so much.

Probably not gonna see Crimson Red back. There's Vermillion red and generally there just isn't much demand for red colours. If it's a huge deal, one can put in a special request for the colour but it'll cost ya big bucks.
By the way, its "fewer" colours because it's something you can count (not "less"). Last edited by AzNMpower32; 04-10-2012 at 07:36 PM. |

These colors were dropped back in February and include Crimson Red, Montego Blue, and Marrakesh Brown. Not sure if any others were dropped. They will likely not come back as they wind down production for this model year. There may be new versions of these colors on the 2013 model, but my bet is that 2013 will be the last year of the current model in the US and there will be maybe a new color like Carbon Black as part of a send off package. Otherwise, what you see is what you get.

Now that you mentioned that, I think I remember reading that elsewhere as well. And here I thought all those Germans at BMW Welt were smiling and admiring our "kuhl" new car. They were probably laughing at the tacky Amis. Oh well, I still think red is an awesome color. Too many plain colored BMWs in my neighborhood.

Our Crimson Red X3 drew a lot of stares in Germany. I overheard one person saying "Feuerwehr" when looking at our car. (more or less calling our car fire engine red)
Can you get Melbourne Red? It is very close to Crimson Red but metallic. You can always ask for special paint, but that will cost thousands and BMW NA often won't allow it.
