Lindau Lodging

Looking into some options for a stopover between Ingolstadt and Badenweiler. My original thought was to stopover at Konstanz. We're thinking of going via Fussen now, so we can stop for a photo of the Q5 @ Neuwastein Castle. Searching the past threads and posts I've seen Lindau lodging comments on

Hotel Lindauer Hof
Hotel Bayerischer Hof

Anyone have any experience with Hotel Bad Schachen (not on the island but on the shoreline) or other lodging alternatives in Lindau area or on the island?

We stayed in Lindau this past New Year's. I highly recommend staying on the island. There's much to see there and the harbor is beautiful at night. Our hotel was the Gasthof Inselgraben, probably a bit too simple and rustic for most on this forum. Frankly we chose it because of its price and included breakfast. We have stayed at the Bayerischer Hof years ago and found it to be nice enough but over-priced. Any of the shoreline hotels are very nice with nice views on the lake, but you pay a premium for that view. Parking can be a pain on the island so arrange for it with your hotel well in advance.

Stayed at Hotel Bayerischer Hof for 119€ in May one year. Very nice. Parking garage of sorts just around the corner. Best to tell them you want parking.
