Since this thread was started, surly some of you have purchased the Dinan. How much did you pay and any advice on negotiating it?

In this socialist influenced country it is prohibited to put something on your car like a Dinan tune.
Not everybody lifes by the law, but in the states with all the safe the planet against the CO2 hoax, can you legally put on this kind of changes on your car? Or is it in a grey zone?

Do not laugh, we are over taxed and what is happening now is when putting on bigger wheels, your tax rises with that, for higher consumption figures that is.

Seeing this thread got me all excited

This is the best car all around I have ever owned. It's the Dinan mod that pushed me over the edge to be able to say that. The car is just perfectly powered at 501hp. It does everything well. A new plus: Even in 100 degree heat parked in the sun, is not so hot inside and she cools down in moments. I do have tint, shade and vent seats, but it seem the leather is somehow heat resistance.

Well,I bit the bullet and did the stage 2 on Friday... Didn't have much of a chance to drive it as I had a toasted tire from a flat (literally it was starting to melt as I gotta the dealer to have it replaced, so glad I got the tire warranty for this car thanks to the posts on here!)

I'm looking forward to seeing how it handles once the weather is dry now that the new tire is on!

I was considering the suspension upgrade also, wondering if anyone has done that? Going to start a new post or post in an old one later....

Anyways, thought I would share that I went ahead and did it and joined the Dinan club...

Now to decide what else to do to get the badge? If I get the suspension done, I'm still 3 points away from the badge, and I have to decide if new rims, or exhaust or something else is worth it to get the badge....

GROUP PURCHASE!!!

We collaborated here to secure a DISA group purchase discount. If you band together and approach one source with 5 or more people they definitely would offer a discount.

I’m all for group buys and do it frequently on another site I am on. However, usually it is done by a vendor and the parts are shipped to your door step. Not sure how this would work with everyone scattered all over the world. Maybe Dinan should offer a group buy to the members here??? Anybody listening??

Great point. Is it possible to secure one supplier discount to multiple shops that install it? In other words the shop charges whatever the labor costs but have them all purchase from the negotiated discount supplier.

Don't know if this is feasible. Just a thought.

I tried to set up a group buy a few months ago, with Dinan and this board. Basically, Dinan was not interested in any group buys based on bad experiences (buyers backing out in particular) in the past.

That said, if we get a good price, I am IN! Otherwise, I have a Dealer and non-Dealer source on the lookout for me and I will also consider other tuning alternatives if they become available.

Maybe Dinan could take deposits. This would be great for the forum, but I get the feeling that it is just a pipe dream. I am not even sure that a 20% discount is large enough to get people off the fence.

John, Did your dealer quote you $650 for the update? From what I have read, I think this is less than a half hour job. After everything is hooked up, the computer time was only about 8 minutes. I may be way off base here, because "I read it on the internet" somewhere. Lol.

Considering I'm planning on a minimum of 6k worth of work, and as much as 15. I'd take 20%

One of you guys should call them today - last year they did a "Dinan wins you win" promotion whenever they won a Grand-Am race. Pruett/Rojas won the Rolex 250 this weekend for Ganassi.

Is the Dinan upgrade legal in CA? I've seen three people from CA post that they are waiting for this but on their site it says.....

Currently: This product is legal in California only for racing vehicles , which may never be used upon the highway.
Product in process for C.A.R.B. approval.
