Angel Eyes as Daytime Running Lights?

Has anyone tried to get the Angel Eyes to function as DRL by cutting and re-arranging wires near the headlight assemblies on a E83 (2007 X3)?

I'm thinking to connect halo LED to parking light wires - if possible?

Woud you rellay want to cut wires amd risk upsetting the CAN-BUS wiring of your car??? You would risk never ending error codes!!

Just a thought!

That is pretty much the reason why I am asking. I figured some adventerous soul out there had already been down that road. My objective (bright angel eyes used as DRL as seen on later models) may be possible through coding. I have a couple of feelers out and will report if I make progress.

I have tried to code this feature for my friends X3 but it is not possible by coding. The FRM would not support that feature.

I think there were members who did it, without any issues.

I've been through the entire process.

DAEOS harness will provide the wiring scheme you need. When installed the halos will have constant power from the ECU.

Then you have to code out the DRL to achieve the cleaner look. Halogen DRLs ruin the look of the halos.
