Smile South Africa Production ?

We ordered our 335i Sport Line in late March, and we want to do a PCD. We just found out today , that our Bimmer will be built in South Africa. Is there any difference from one being built in Germany? Our previous two 3 Series were built in Germany. Just checking out there. We are assuming there is no difference, but would appreciate any feedback. Our CA did say that its much longer in transit coming from South Africa. We now look to do a PCD in Late July. Thanks as always for your input.

Your bimmer is going to have locally sourced parts. No difference since BMW qualifies the supply chain according to their standards and specifications. There won't be any difference - only psychologically. Also, you have warranty and shouldnt worry

Do a search on the E90 forum, and maybe the E46. SA has been manufacturing cars for the world for years with no quality issues. It's all psychological.......heck my mom's 325i is an SA model and it's been more reliable than most of the reported issues on the E90 forum.

The SA factory has had even higher quality results than the German plants.

I'm in Australia and my F30 is coming from the SA plant - I guess cos it's closer than Munich. Can't wait - a bimmer is a bimmer.

Mein Auto: Car
For those of you who do prefer that your car be made in Germany, you can request this when making a custom order with the dealer.

123N is the current production figure. You can see this post here:
