NJ BMW CCA Autocross Sun 4/22 - Membership REQUIRED

The New Jersey Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America will hold its first autocross of the 2012 season on Sunday, 22 April. The venue is the Red Lot at TD Bank Park (Somerset Patriots stadium) in Bridgewater, NJ.

Please note the following important change from past seasons, as posted on our Chapter web site.

The NJ Chapter is now required to have all driving participants be BMW CCA members in good standing. (You do not have to be a member to view, or ride along at an Autocross event.) Proof of valid membership is required at all events.

You can join the BMW CCA on the day of the event.


Annual BMW CCA membership fee is $48.
Autocross fees will be $45 per event per entrant for our TD Bank Park events in 2012. (Same as 2011 fees.)

At the April 22, 2012 autocross only, the NJ BMW CCA will have a special offer of $65 for attendees who sign up for a 1-year BMW CCA membership and to autocross that day - a savings of $28. Sign-ups will be done via paper applications; checks and cash accepted, as for all autocrosses. No credit cards.

Please plan ahead: If you are not a member, either join in advance or remember to bring sufficient cash (or a check) to sign up on the spot. We welcome all competitors but there can be no exceptions to the membership requirement.

Too bad that it got cancelled due to insufficient attendance

Judging by the handle (oops, and "mein auto"), you brought the Carbon Black M Sport 5er? Nice car.

To be fair, that was only part of it. While we had (just barely) enough people show up to run the event, due to the iffy weather, the threat of rain was what tipped the scales. By 10:00 a light drizzle had already begun and it was a steady rain by 11:00. We'd have been lucky to get 1-2 runs off.

Next event is 20 May, same location...let's hope the weather cooperates this time!

Thanks for your compliments on the car! This was my first to be autocross and was very much looking forward.

You are right ofcourse that the potential rain is what made the attendance low and lo and behold the rain came as expected.... Lets hope we get lucky for the next event.
